"Whenever you draw your second card each turn,... "
I saw this ability pop up in Throne of Eldraine and I was instantly hooked. What an interesting mechanic! It adds a unique incentive to draw cards and it makes for gameplay that's a lot of fun.
It just feels good to always have cards in hand, and to swap out cards you don’t want for cards you do want.
There's a Faerie flavor to be sure, and to my delight many of the cards ended up being from Eldraine (it's always satisfying thematically to keep mostly to cards from a single plane).
You win through flying Faeries into opponents faces and Irencrag Pyromancer's recurring Lightning Boltesque attacks.
The Weakening of the Deck
In my play group this deck has unfortunately over-performed and I have won so often with it that some of the fun is sucked out of the room for my group when I bring the Faeries out.
To solve this problem there are several options: (At least that is probably true. Unfortunately, I have currently only bothered to come up with one).
Type A solutions: Ditch the Faerie MVP Talion's Messenger
1. (my current favorite) Swap out Talion's Messenger for Proft's Eidetic Memory. This card allows you to maintain one trigger of “second card” abilities. As a fun bonus, everytime you draw an additional card on your turn, you still get the +1/+1 counter benefit of Talion's Messenger!
1a. As a side affect, this makes Latchkey Faerie even less useful. Which is why I've already replaced it in general with cards that benefit from being discarded.
