Sideboard

Maybeboard

Tutor Heavy Infinite Mana Deck. This has very limited amounts of control. It is typically a race to hit a win con before anyone else does.

Latest Changes:

I have changed out a number of cards to try to make the deck more diverse. Some cards listed below may now be sitting in the side/maybe board and could easily be swapped back in. Updated for inclusion of M21, mill protection, less reliance on etb, more variety of infinite mana combination types, addition of infinite mill, infinite life combos. Weaknesses of the deck still include things like torpor orb and counterspell based decks. I haven't updated the below to reflect these changes.

Infinite Combos

  1. Anyone one of Eldrazi Displacer,Deadeye Navigator AND any one of Great Whale, Peregrine Drake. Can add Palinchron if desired.
  2. Pili-Pala AND Grand Architect

Key Setups:

  1. Tooth and Nail with entwine leads to instant infinite mana (refer to Infinite Combos).
  2. Defense of the Heart trigger leads to instant infinite mana (refer to Infinite Combos).
  3. Any 11 lands on the battlefield + Scapeshift.

Win Conditions

  1. Infinite Mana immediately makes entire deck playable with Golos, Tireless Pilgrim's ability to set up any of the following: Kenrith, the Returned King - Infinite mana to force all players to draw their entire deck
  2. Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate - Infinite X cost damage
  3. Maze's End - Scapeshift to bring 10 gates onto the field. Either have Maze's End on the field, untapped already or have one of Voyaging Satyr or Amulet of Vigor to bypass requirement to wait for next turn to win.
  4. Boseiju, Who Shelters All is critical against heavy control decks in order to successfully tutor for and cast cards such as Tooth and Nail.

Other Combo/Strategy Notes

  1. Deadeye Navigator also pairs well with Golos, Tireless Pilgrim, allowing you to bring additional lands into play and is often a key piece to ramping this deck.
  2. Deadeye Navigator also pairs well with Agent of Treachery, allowing you to steal all the most important pieces of an opponents field. It is sometimes overlooked that this can be used to steal lands as well.
  3. It is situational, but typically the cards you want to tutor for will be one of the win conditions. In a pinch tutors can also be used to respond to threats that will end you or prevent win conditions from working (like Torpor Orb by drawing board wipes or Darksteel Mutation to control a particularly nasty creature or commander.
  4. It is tempting to use Ephemerate and Cloudshift on Golos, Tireless Pilgrim early. Unless it will dramatically alter the game, it is typically better to save them to use defensively against single target removal spells.

Cautions:

Using Golos, Tireless Pilgrim's ability can accidentally cause the exile of gates and X cost win conditions. This is rarely an issue, as any of the above is most likely to be triggered by the infinite mana outlet, but there is a remote possibility of removing a situation specific win condition without being able to access another.

It is possible to win via damage, but that is an absolute last resort.

Latest Edits:

Current Considerations:

Considering removing all gates (and therefore gate win condition) to add more control/counterspell/card draw type cards as well as at least 1 of each basic land (except maybe Mountain).
