Creature (1)

aristocrats synergy deck

This is a deck I made for a friend of mine, who is a new magic player. Being so, this deck is simple to use, but has some trick up its sleeve.

  1. Bloodthrone Vampire : the original idea of the deck, around which most (but not all) of the victory conditions are based on. Main strategy is to pump her attack sacrificing a lot (almost every creature counts as two, being that it leaves a token behind). She also has a subdle natural protection against removal, being black (bye bye Doom Blade ), vampire (no more Victim of Night ), with changing toughness, thanks to her ability (sacrificing only two creatures or a blisterpod prevents a Lightning Bolt ), and in a deck full of tokens (and so go also all the edicts ).

  2. Miming Slime : thanks to a recent sale at the simic guild, we have access to this little treasure over here, which should be cast when we have a big enough Vampire or of we manage to crank a creature's Power high enough (I personally advice 6 or more) using Hunger of the Howlpack , Sylvok Lifestaff , and maybe even Nameless Inversion , if you already had an x/4 on the ground (Easy enough thanks to the token created by Brindle Shoat .

  3. Essence Harvest : Last but not least, this one can be the only way to win against turbo fog decks and similar. Must be cast at the right moment, with a big enough Bloodthrone Vampire , or a big enough Ooze (created by Miming Slime ).

  • Bloodthrone Vampire + Nested Shambler (or others like him): +4/+4 (or more) on the vampire for each creature. Sacrifice with caution: tokens are your defense and your insurance against edicts . Also think twice before sacrificing Brindle Shoat 's 3/3 token because you are going to trade a 3 damage source with a +2/+2 on the vampire, and, while sometimes must be done, it's not alwsys useful.

  • - Nested Shambler + Nameless Inversion : not a big, game defining combo, but playing 4 squirrels out of nowhere may be always useful

    - Bloodthrone Vampire / Village Rites + Viridian Emissary : It may not seem like the best combo, but in a 19-land deck it may save your Life

    - Unearth can be used on any creature (they all cost less than 3) and to double the sacrificing buff on the vampire.

Remember that Village Rites , Bloodthrone Vampire can all enable morbid on Tragic Slip and Hunger of the Howlpack .

    SIDEBOARD SWAPS

Playtesting the deck emerged the fact that it can put out a big amount of 3/3 very easily, which are not to be underestimated!

This is probably all that there is to know to try this deck. Try having Bloodthrone Vampire , Viridian Emissary or Brindle Shoat in your opening hand for a good start. If you like this deck, feel free to give it a +1!

Any piece of advice is welcome.

    Updates Add

Added Nested Shambler in place of Blisterpod. Added two Nameless Inversion moving Sylvok Lifestaff to the sideboard, for their synergy in creating squirrels
