Glissa betraying you w/ artifacts and stuff

Commander / EDH Artifact BG (Golgari) Multiplayer

The_Traitor

Glissa, the Traitor was the first Commander I have ever played and I absolutely love the deck. It has some super fun combos and is all for value and synergy. You will discover new funny interactions every game. An absolute joy to play.

General Strategy

The Game Plan of this Deck is relatively clear: Control the board with artifact removal, that can come back and generate value with artifacts in general. Our Commander is very important we need Glissa, the Traitor on the battlefield to get value out of our cards. Many Cards like a Thornbite Staff are complete Trash without her. That is why this deck is running a lot of Protection like Lightning Greaves or Darksteel Plate. Without Glissa, the Traitor it is also hard to compensate the lack of carddraw by value in the deck. It might very well happen, that you can use only very few things to stay in the game.

Winning the Game

The Deck can win the game with combos like Mindslaver+Forbidden Orchard, Ugin, the Spirit Dragon, an Scuttling Engine/Marionette Master chain, or simply with a Blightsteel Colossus. Sometimes even Glissa, the Traitor or another creature like a Wurmcoil Engine can win by simply keeping the board clear and dealing damage.

The best cards in the deck

Removal

Ramp

The cost reducing cards are generally speaking best, since you want to recast the spells you got back a lot of times...

reocurring ramp cards are really good as well...

and the ramp cards that draw you cards are good engines.

Synergy and Value

  • Smokestack: will destroy your oppenents more than you if played carefully, can get you a lot of value.
  • Krark-Clan Ironworks: The best sacrifice outlet in the deck. can get you a ton of value, especially with cards like Noxious Gearhulk.
  • Trading Post: This Decks needs sacrifice outlets, this card will most of the time draw you cards, a relatively rare pleasure in this deck.
  • Mystic Forge: nice card advantage
  • Hangarback Walker: just gets you a lot of artifacts. and if you get it back even more. good combo piece

Some Combos that will probably go infinite of the Deck:

Combos:

This Deck will Combo most of the time, often with cards like Hangarback Walker or Wurmcoil Engine+Krark-Clan Ironworksor a Trading Post. I cannot cover all of them, since most cards somehow combo with Glissa, the Traitor or try to give additional value to Glissa, the Traitors effect. You will see this deck winning often by just chaining a lot of spells with a Marionette Master on the field or by recasting and sacrificing aScuttling Doom Engine a lot. There are more ways to win as covered before though. As said, this Deck is super fun because you will discover new combos and synergys all to time.
