Admittedly, I came up with this deck based on this playmat: https://www.amazon.com/Inked-Playmats-Playmat-Hearthstone-Gathering/dp/B06XG36V6N. It is not your standard Gitrog commander deck. It has a squirrel token sub-theme. Lastly, there is a healthy amount of fog. No one expects the Spore Frog. :D

The Gitrog Monster and Darksteel Plate are a deadly combination. They help you pick off the other players creatures and then do a healthy amount of commander damage.

Believe it or not, the squirrels can work well with Gitrog. For example, Squirrel Wrangler while The Gitrog Monster is out means you get additional card draw and to boost your squirrel tokens.

Constant Mists is an awesome fog option for this deck. If Gitrog is out, you get card draw and your fog back.

As you probably noticed, I do run this deck lighter on land than most other Gitrog commander decks. Although, I do have many cards to help me dig for land or pull land back from the graveyard. Groundskeeper, Ramunap Excavator, Life from the Loam and Crucible of Worlds are some great examples of things that let me play lands from my graveyard.

Given that I depend on my graveyard, I put in Elixir of Immortality so I could shuffle my graveyard back in if things are getting too dire.

Amulet of Vigor is great because a lot of the lands come in tapped and it helps me get the lands playable faster.

Finally, if you have Crucible of Worlds, The Gitrog Monster, and Elvish Reclaimer out, you can sack a land (card draw) to search for Glacial Chasm. Attack with The Gitrog Monster and your other creatures then play Glacial Chasm. You will be protected until your next turn. Sack Glacial Chasm to Gitrog before you have to pay the upkeep costs. Then you can replay it with Crucible of Worlds.
