Final note —May 20, 2018
After over four years of having this as my primary EDH deck, I'm bringing it to a close. Many of the physical cards from Gitrog County Municipal Lake Dredge Appraisal have now been incorporated into my new Canadian Highlander deck: deck:20-05-18-pattern-rector.
I toyed with other ideas. Ending this has not been without reservations. I think that, for a time, I probably had the best Karador deck out there. But I haven't been giving the concept much attention and it was turning into a Pattern Rector deck anyway. Canadian Highlander, as a competitive format, is more suitable for that archetype.
If I do return to something like this deck in EDH, it'll be either a dredge-based deck with The Gitrog Monster as commander or a dedicated Pattern Rector deck without the dredge theme. I pushed the use of those two competing ideals too far, letting the deck sit at a crossroads. And so I'm bowing out for now. I wish all of my fellow Karador players happy hunting.
