Welcome to the best mono-green aggro deck in commander! (or at least I think so). I've always loved casting big creatures with trample, and this deck does just that! One of the things that drew me to Ghalta was the fact that her static discount can negate the commander tax. Because of this, you can cast Ghalta for only 2 green a majority of the time. The deck is pretty straightforward, play some early game mana ramp, cast big creatures, smash face and win. We have a few protection spells in the form of Heroic intervention and Wrap in Vigor that can stop non-damage Wraths (Wrap in Vigor doesn't stop Wrath specifically, but you know what I mean). Vigor can turn any damage based field wipe into a massive pump for our team, too. You do have an infinite mana combo in the form of Wakeroot Elemental plus Itlimoc, Cradle of the the Sun and 4 other creatures, turning Itlimoc into a 5/5, and untapping it, then tapping it for 6, reuse Wakeroot's ability to untap it (now netting 1 G), repeat for infinite. There are a few things we can do with infinite mana, like make infinite beasts with Soul of Zendikar, Infinitely pump our team with Kamahl, cast an infinitely big Genesis Hydra (likely find Kamahl off it's cast), or Monstrous our Polukranos to kill all of our opponent's creatures. But, we're not a combo deck, we are an aggro deck. Wakeroot still makes the cut simply because activating it's ability will net us a 1 mana discount on Ghalta in a pinch. The best thing about this deck is how easily it can be built on a budget. There are so many 5/5's for 4 mana, that it is insanely easy to build a decent Ghalta deck no matter what your price point is. Want to play Elfball and want a 12/12 trampler as your commander? Go for it! Want to just play generic good big stuff? Do that too! I'll finish with a story of the first time I have cast Ghalta on turn 3. Turn one, Forest into Sol Ring and Emerald Medallion. Turn 2, Forest, tap Sol Ring and 2 Forests for 4, use 3 to cast Garruk Wildspeaker (discount from the Medallion). +1 Garruk to untap the 2 Forests, use the remaining 1 mana floating and tap the Forests for Goreclaw, Terror of Qal-Sisma. Turn 3, tap forests for 2 and cast Territorial Allosaurus (discount from Goreclaw), +1 Garruk to untap, tap for 2 and cast Ghalta. Tap Sol ring for Lighning Greaves and watch everybody's eyes bulge out of their heads. Have fun and enjoy the deck!
