Getting there with Griffins

Looking for feedback on a mostly for fun pauper deck. Using relatively cheap fliers Griffin Rider, Fledgling Griffin and Diving Griffin to get in pretty easily with a decent Griffin recovery engine in MistMoon Griffin. The rest of the board has some of the staple white removal, protection, and combat tricks to push through clogged boards and defend against removal. This is my first draft of the deck, and any suggestions are super welcome.

Update # 1

After my first local pauper event, I think I've decided on some pretty good changes to the deck.

  • Replacing 4x Alley Evasion for 4x Bonesplitters.
  • Adding an additional 1x Oblivion Ring to the main board and cutting a plains
  • Cutting the Javelin dudes for 4x Loyal Sentry because they don't do as much for this deck as they do for white weenies
  • Replacing 2x Plains with 2x Secluded Steppe to help with some of the flooding late game
  • Added the sideboard I'm playing

That's it for now. Ideally I'd like to replace the Marshaling cry's because they are also very, very often dead draws.

Updates Add

After doing a bit more experimenting and looking at some well-performing decks in the format I think I've figured out some improvements.

I've moved 3 out of the 4 oblivion rings in the deck over to the side board, replacing them with 4 copies of Journey to Nowhere to keep things a little bit faster. Enchantment based removal is more important in the deck now, as I've adopted a bit of an enchantment sub-theme.

I replaced 2 shelters and 2 Marshaling cries with 4 copies of ethereal armor. The armor also synergies with the 4 copies of nyxborn shieldmate and 2 copies of Hopeful Eidolon I threw into the main deck. These creatures are good for not only powering up the griffins in the late game, but powering up the armor as well.

I've also removed the copies of Banishing Light as it rarely, if ever, came up as a useful draw.

I'm considering splashing green for rancor, as I think it would be the push necessary to send this deck over the top. We'll see how this weekend's Pauper event goes.
