we cookin cookin ya feel?

focus on high speed low cost go wide artifacts / enchantments

enchantments and mana rocks to ramp

artifact creatures are more reliable for protecting

A lot of these are low cost green ramp. These help cover the disadvantage of a colorless utility land drawn early.

Card Name   CMC     Net Mana Production   Notes / Additional Effects
Abundant Growth 1 0 Cantrips
Blighted Burgeoning 3 1 Incubate 2 on ETB
Fertile Ground 2 1
Nylea's Presence 2 0 Cantrips
Trace of Abundance 2 1 Gives enchanted land shroud
Underworld Connections 3 0 Constant card draw source
Urban Utopia 2 0 Cantrips
Weirding Wood 3 1 Investigate on ETB
Wellspring 3 1 Old weird haha
Wild Growth 1 1 Only produces green mana

This section is devoted to the holy trinity of utility artifacts: Treasure for ramp, Clues for draw, and Food for life. Besides that their job is to sit there not drawing targeted removal until they're converted into commander damage. Artifacts have the benefit of having the most ways to convert to commander power, with the exchange rate being

The all in ones

  • Academy Manufactor - Turns any single token generation into 3 times generation. Insane value.
  • Fae Offering - Has a semi-intense condition on it, but can generate 3 tokens at once multiple times

Treasure Token generators

These are the most heavily used utility artifact in the deck, since they're heavily supported and can fuel anything else in the deck. Inclusions are

  • Dockside Extortionist - Has a unique potential to generate insane value at a 4 person table. One time burst, no blink included beside more general board recursion
  • Smothering Tithe - Will likely draw removal, but while its out its a consistent stream of value. Additionally usable as an Enchantment
  • Monologue Tax - Included as a slightly worse redundancy for Smothering Tithe
  • Shiny Impetus - Strong protection from voltron pieces. Generates 1 extra treasure per turn. Additionally usable as an Enchantment
  • Pitiless Plunderer - Not sure on this one
  • Prosperous Partnership - Lets us use any creatures to generate more value for free, atogs don't need to tap
  • Ruthless Technomancer - Can build up a large atog in response to his ETB, harvest the value, and just buy the atog back
  • Seize the Spoils - More card draw, but still generates treasures. Move l8r idk :p
  • Curse of Opulence - 1cmc, and can be used to politic away aggro decks

Clue Token Generators

These can help to supplement our card draw, and stop us from fizzling out on tempo. Inclusions are

  • Tireless Tracker - Investigate on a landfall trigger gives this card the ability to more than replace itself if it stays out more than one turn
  • Tamiyo's Journal - A little bit on the higher end of the deck's curve, but has the ability to act as a repeatable tutor
  • Bygone Bishop - The majority of all creatures in this deck, including the majority of atogs, are 3cmc or lower, and will get investigate triggers from this
  • Disorder in the Court - This card can disassemble a blocker's board while pumping up any artifact based atogs for a very unexpected lethal hit out of nowhere
  • Wernog, Rider's Chaplain - for 2cmc investigate somewhere between 1 and 4 times, probably won't get shut down as easily as Tempt with Discovery

NOTE - Thorough Investigation Really should be included here, but I'd rather this deck consistently shit the bed than deal with dungeons

Food Token Generators

Food tokens are by far the least useful of these 3. Cards need to either provide unique value or be uniquely resilient to be considered. Inclusions are

  • The Shire - Low committal land slot, the risk of 1 turn of tap land is worth it for repeatable token generation IMO
  • Gilded Goose - Birds of paradise but with more steps idk. One of the better food options lmao
  • Savvy Hunter - Converts food to draw, and punishes low committal swings at our board

In total there are 11 non-commander atogs that help us convert our board state into attack power. Chronatog and Necratog both suck ass so that brings us down to 9 "utility" atogs in the entire deck. Tutor options are included, but to further help smoothing this out, a number of cards have been included to mess with the typelines of permanents.

Artifact and Enchantment Smoothing

There are no atogs that care about being a creauture, so these are just the obvious inclusions for smoothing.

  • Enchanted Evening - Turns everything on the board into enchantments
  • Mycosynth Lattice - Turns everything on the board into artifacts
  • Encroaching Mycosynth - Turns everything on the board into artifacts
  • Biotransferrence - smooths creatures into artifacts and generates value, but i dont like the art :<<<

Creature Subtype fuckery (Atog time)

These are the cards that let us add creature types (atog) to all our creatures.

Unlike artifacts/enchantments/etc, which all have a fixed rate that at most is +3, anything that is an atog creature type can transfer all its power to our commander. One way to abuse this is with creatures that create more resources on death. These are

  • Reef Worm - +18 power
  • Wurmcoil Engine - +12 power, plus native artifact, plus just generally good
  • Myr Sire - +2 power, but gets a better rate off of high end artifact conversion
  • Treasure Keeper - +1 power, but can get you another random resource
