First tournament report —Nov. 7, 2019

Round 1 - Abzan Aggro: Game 1 he stuck an anafenza and I could do nothing but chump block due to pressure. Game 2 - we win with an explosive start and some great hits on creeping chill. Game 3 - mull to 5 and got thoughtseized, it happens in magic sometimes we don't sweat it. First round is a loss.

Round 2 - a really cool grixis improvise deck with herald of anguish: game 1 we win by flipping westvale abbey and beating him down through his demon. Game 2 we run really good and just kill him too quickly to set up. We also blew him out of a lifegain spell by killing the target with murderous cut. win round 2.

round 3 - esper dragons control: Game 1 we gottem with the pig through many answers. Chumped dragonlord ojutai all day with spirits and narcomoebas. instant speed crux of fate wiped my board, and I was able to rebuild in full on my second main and end step, then the pig gottem. game 2 he landed a leyline of the void and had perfect answers. game 3 we exploded on turn 2, with stitchers sipplier milling narcomoeba, amalgam, and haunted dead. turn 2 I was able to swing for 5 and on my opponents turn activate haunted dead by discarding an amalgam and a driven // despair. He had to discard his entire hand on my turn 3 and this sealed it. win round 3.

Round 4 esper control (sphinx's rev, permission) - game 1 he lost to our explosive and recursive threats. Games 2 and 3 he stuck an archangel of thune that just gained too much life for us to kill him. another loss

I was super happy with the deck's performance overall, I need to adjust the sideboard and try a few cards in the main. I ended up siding out the ghoulsteeds every match so I have swapped them for Voldaren Pariah  Flips and I'll be testing that out for next week.

I definitely need more practice piloting this though, I had a ton of misplays thinking back.
