Commander / EDH RGW (Naya)

Story time! Original Credit for the deck inspiration goes to "a wall of text," (from here out referred to as Text) for their Forever War deck build

So I just moved to a new area, and a new LGS...which means I got a new tappedout account too, well old new, never had to actually post on here before! My old store had a really competitive commander pod of about eighteen players with really oppressive decks; though we were always trying to make ways to screw with our meta. I was the guy who went in and decided to mess with everyone's game and win from behind using convoluted methods. I had moderate success if I do say so myself. Well the area I just moved to has an LGS and turns out they have a brand new commander pod...they're not what I'm used to. There are only five of them and they're not competitive at all. So my other decks just are not suited to the new climate. I ended up buying two of the CMDR19 precons just to have something I wouldn't feel bad playing against them.

Well, I bought the Naya precon and I thought Marisi was just nifty! I'd never built Naya before, nor had I ever wanted to, but it was now time. Though while I was going through and checking EDHREC I saw Gahiji...and he's just better for what I wanted to accomplish. So! My current goal is to still win in convoluted ways without being oppressive while slowly growing a more competitive environment and hopefully get the absolutely massive number of other Magic players to jump ship to the glory that is Commander.

Now Gahiji led me to Text's Forever War deck and saw that it was almost exactly what I wanted, though I did add changes for how I prefer to play. I'm playing green so I added a good chunk of ramp, and I also added in a good deal of card draw. And since I'm a for life I added in some of my favorite red cards.

Honestly, I normally don't put up decks that I didn't come up with myself, but without a robust playgroup to test against I want the community to give me some feedback.

Current thoughts: -Is this current version ok enough to play in such a laid back Commander setting, or should I tone it down? -I normally make three versions of a deck. This is going to be the "default" deck. I want to also make one that takes advantage of white's hatebears and do a more stax-y version. The other version I want as more of a group hug effect, but honestly...I'm at a bit of a loss. I've built an oppressive group-huggy Zedruu deck and it's one of my favorites, but I'm just not seeing the same sort of synergies in Gahiji...so I think I'd do a higher aggro version. Let me know if you guys see anything you'd think would be good on the group-hug front. -For the aggro version I want to do more combat steps with Aurelia, aggravated assault, combat celebrant, etc...I'd need more haste generators as well like Ogre Taskmaster and some enchantments like Rhythm of the Wild, but should I include more token generation in? Maybe add back dragon broodmother?

Let me hear your feedback, I'd really appreciate it! Vex
