Funny, She Doesn't Look Druish

Commander / EDH Mono-Green Ramp Tribal

I started this deck with a Patron of the Orochi mono-green core. Patron's ability can be used on each player's turn, so there are lots of green creatures with activated abilities here. Often utility creatures can get four or five uses from just one trip around the table with Patron out.

Over time, I noticed that a lot of the creatures I wanted to use in the deck shared common creature types, such as shaman or druid. Then I discovered Gilt-Leaf Archdruid - and the rest, as they say, is history.

There are some surprisingly useful druids out there, including some you might not realize are druids - thanks, errata! There are 20-ish druids in the deck (counting Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury, who makes druid tokens).

Heartstone and Illusionist's Bracers are best buddies with most of the creatures in our deck, including Nemata, Grove Guardian, Squirrel Wrangler , and Kamahl, Fist of Krosa.

Getting the most use possible out of Patron is the goal of this deck. One way to do that is by giving Patron haste so that he is "free" the turn he comes in and his ability starts going around the table immediately. To that end we have Concordant Crossroads, Lightning Greaves, and Thousand-Year Elixir. There are also three mana-doubling cards in the deck for our mana sinks: Keeper of Progenitus, Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger, and Vernal Bloom .

We also want to get Patron out as quickly as possible. Sol Ring into Somberwald Sage can get him out on turn three. Green Sun's Zenith (for Dryad Arbor) into Llanowar Druid can do the same. We also have a suite of mana accelerants inluding Rampant Growth, Skyshroud Claim, Harrow, and Cultivate.

There are a variety of win conditions. Budoka Gardener can win almost by himself with Patron out. Triumph of the Hordes, Kamahl, Fist of Krosa, Baru, Fist of Krosa , Nemata, Grove Guardian, and Squirrel Wrangler are all Overrun effects. A massive Genesis Wave into something that gives haste and a mass of creatures is usually GG. Ursapine is also a very scary card with access to 15+ mana, especially if his partner in crime Nantuko Mentor is on the table. And of course, any six druids + Gilt-Leaf Archdruid will usually win the game, especially when you can use it at the beginning of each player's upkeep thanks to Patron.

Combos:

Citanul Hierophants + Concordant Crossroads + Heartstone + Ant Queen (infinite tokens)

Collective Voyage + Baru, Fist of Krosa or Rampaging Baloths

Perilous Forays + Rampaging Baloths or Ant Queen

Groundskeeper + Squirrel Wrangler

Ursapine + Viridian Joiner
