maybe card:Death's Presence ? It can be very violent with a lot of your cards here, including your commander

Sounds good to me, especially when the deck starts chaining sacrifice effects together. I'm a little unsure about the mana cost being too restrictive to get it into play before the whole action is already over but I'll definitely give it a try. Thanks!

Chainer, Dementia Master for reanimation?

chilbi says... #4

Hm... reanimating opposing creatures is tempting but I feel like Puppeteer Clique does that job almost as good as Chainer and for less mana.

Maybe adding some grave recurrency with flashback spells could be good Sever the Bloodline ; i know it's expensive but you could play Maelstrom Pulse or evenAbrupt Decay if you wanna add more polyvalent cards ...

Take a look at my skullbriar EDH It might not be the way you want to go, but all out with +1/+1 is an amazingly fast way to do 21 commander damage

You need Homeward Path for some protection on control magic Oran-Rief, the Vastwood is awsome with that commander, also Blade of the Bloodchief and Increasing Savagery for fast boosting of skullbriar

Thanks for the input everyone. switch, flashback seems a natural addition to the theme. Sever the Bloodline might be the top of the iceberg here, though.

Bobgalarneau, I think you are right with Homeward Path here. Even though my focus is less voltron-style concerning Skullbriar, with just two colors in the deck it won't hurt to protect my 10/10 monsters from being stolen.

Grim Backwoods over Slippery Karst ? you can never have too many sac outlets >.> Also what about Bitterblossom ? Tokens to sac seems good for you.... Another thought, I kind of think Sewer Nemesis is better than Splinterfright Since you're going to have a big graveyard you can name yourself then boom! jarad Throws him for 20+! Hope it helps.

Sewer Nemesis seems like the nuts in here, thanks! Grim Backwoods effect just seems way too mana intense to me, but I'll think about adding a High Market or so as additional outlet.

If you ever stumble upon a vast fortune, Diamond Valley and Bazaar of Baghdad will make your friends cry.

I would add Reclaim for your general because any counters stay on him which includes -1,-1 counters. I did that to a guy in a game and made his general useless

chilbi says... #13

Great advice , never thought of that. Though since the deck is not that Skullbriar centered I think I'll skip on adding Reclaim here. Should I ever get to a Valley or Bazaar they'll be in here for sure as well.

Creakwood Liege would be nice

Kirtanian says... #15

That could definitely work.
I would also add "Varolz" from Dragon's Maze. He has great synergy with the cards in this deck.

Few cards I'm thinking of are Regrowth Harmonize maybe Foster . If your playing mitotic slime you may want to play Ashnod's Altar because that creates infinite tokens and colorless mana, plus Altar of Dementia for the instant win. Then again if you're trying to piece together a combo you'd probably want Demonic Tutor preferably, or Diabolic Tutor Increasing Ambition or Diabolic Revelation . If you're not happy with your curve I highly suggest tossing in Cultivate Kodama's Reach and maybe Golgari Signet and Rampant Growth a boring suggestion I know but speed is important. I would probably consider playing Diabolic Servitude Victimize Stitch Together Animate Dead or Dread Return . Good luck, +1.

Thanks for the input guys! @Rofelos: Wow, lots of stuff I'll have to think about. Tutors were cut for a more "casual" appeal and I tried to back away from the usual green sorcery ramp suite to make room for more creatures. Foster will definitely see play in here though, great card!

One question though: As far as I understand it, Mitotic Slime + Ashnod's Altar generates 7 creatures and thus 14 colorless mana, where does the infinity come from?

On right my bad, you need Nim Deathmantle which might be one puzzle piece too many to add. Doh.

April 28, 2013 5:32 p.m.

chilbi says... #19

np, I might as well think about adding Nim Deathmantle on it's own as well. Looks promising though a little costy..

Rofelos says... #20

It could be worth it to protect your commander, but if you're not playing tutors it might not be feasible to piece together that combo.

I would indeed change your commander for Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord . The thing is that your deck does not realy take advantage of Skullbriar, the Walking Grave beside being awsome as a commander with low cost, haste and the fact it can boost itself.

You've seen my skullbriar deck, in most duel it win by turn 5, out of commander damage. It realy isn't a combo deck and doesn't have interactions, in fact it feel more like a gruul beatdown deck..... I can't see your deck do the same... Yours seem too "intelligent" for a skullbriar deck :p

Jarad would provide you a sac engine, and can grow big enough with all those creatures in your grave.

Bobgalarneau says... #22

I just hope it went nicely with Jarad, your deck seems solid.

I would add Filth , since you have Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth . It always freak peoples out and it can be a sweet plan B if you end up having to trash the opponent. Maybe Buried Alive too, it would add some redundancy to Entomb and does not require three target.

hey great deck +1

feel free to draw any ideas you like from my deck Jarad's Legion of Death

also feel free to leave any suggestions.

hehehe, FaustHarbinger I anonymously +1'ed your deck a yesterday or so, nice! Added a comment as well right now, maybe you can use it.

An instant win condition that can be added to any Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord EDH is Phyrexian Devourer . You can pump Phyrexian Devourer up without his bury trigger resolving and throw him with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord . A pretty sweet 2 card combo.

Check my deck out to see how it works. Jarad Combo EDH
