Alright, what's different in here?

Let's welcome the new Disco-Queen in town! Melira got in for the scavenge-combo revolving around Varolz, the Scar-Striped and boy, does she have some tricks up her sleeve: Since denying our creatures -1/-1 counters Melira goes together quite well with persist creatures such as Kitchen Finks and Murderous Redcap naturally. Throw in a -Mana sacrifice outlet and there you have your infinite life / infinite damage combo (with Ashnod's Altar it's also an infinite mana combo for colorless mana).

Speaking of infinity, Devoted Druid and Quillspike also form an impressive team on their own. After activating the druid's untap ability you want to use the mana you got to remove the -1/-1 counter via Quillspike which will get a neat +3/+3 for your efforts. Rinse and repeat as you wish until you feel in the mood to have Jarad throw a really large spike at your opponents or simply attack. Of course, if you tap Devoted Druid a second time before activating Quillspike, you'll also end up with infinite -Mana.

The elephant in the room here is obviously Gaea's Cradle which can be easily replaced with Growing Rites of Itlimoc  , saving 300$+ with just one card swap.

Splendid Reclamation is indeed an inferior replacement for Life from the Loam , since it disables the draw/dredge engine between LftL and the cycling-lands. Still the change is worth some thirty dollars, so it's kinda hard to argue with. Still you might want to undo this one as soon as you have the opportunity for sure.

c) Combos

• Phyrexian Dreadnought , Death's Shadow , Varolz -> the scar-striped -> Melira, Sylvok Outcast , Viscera Seer , Kitchen Finks , Murderous Redcap
• Mikaeus, the Unhallowed , Triskelion , Workhorse -> Quillspike , Devoted Druid

So in the end you get a slightly slower version that will still be able to deliver funky badass turns and hillariously large creatures. Feel free to add some tutors for more reliability, there's plenty of budget-friendly versions out there. To me tutoring is just not my playstyle in EDH so much, that's why I kept it down to Buried Alive and Jarad's Orders .
