Frenz Press Coffee

Easy to prepare, delightful to taste

Brew a nice, hot pot of mono-red aggro, potentially winning by turn 3 (or even turn 2, see Magical Christmasland below).

Step 1 Get some coffee grounds

Play some Mountain s.

Step 2 Get out your favorite coffeemaker

Play Experimental Frenzy as soon as possible, hopefully by turn 2 or 3, using rituals and mana creatures played in turn 1 or 2.

Step 3 Fill it up with grounds and hot water

Play as much as you can off the top of your deck: rituals ( Desperate Ritual and Pyretic Ritual ), 'free' creatures ( Burning-Tree Emissary ), mana creatures ( Skirk Prospector and Wild Cantor ) and the extremely flavorful Runaway Steam-Kin .

Step 4 Insert the plunger into the pot

Keep the Frenzy going when you hit a second land by manipulating the top of your deck with Codex Shredder , Insolent Neonate , Madblind Mountain and Merchant of the Vale .

Step 5 Pour a nice cup of coffee

Swing with everything thanks to Goblin Bushwhacker and Reckless Bushwhacker (with an honorary mention to Castle Embereth ) giving all your random creatures +1/+0 and haste. Or dump all the mana you generated with the Steam-Kin s into Devil's Play .

Magical Christmasland

Other cards I'm considering

Enjoy!

This deck is completely based on SaffronOlive's Mono-Red Frenzy deck (https://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/budget-magic-92-13-tix-mono-red-frenzy-modern). Ever since Guilds of Ravnica was spoiled, I knew I wanted to do something with Experimental Frenzy and Runaway Steam-Kin , but never quite knew what besides the usual mono-red aggro build. SaffronOlive's deck was exactly what I needed! I ran with it, made a couple of tweaks here and there and it is now my favorite deck to play.

Suggestions

Updates Add

After the recent banning of Faithless Looting, I'm gonna try a build with Merchant of the Vale instead. It could still be nice to dig for Experimental Frenzy, costs only so not much of a problem when going off, and can even add an extra body to the field.

Also, Castle Embereth seems nice as an additional whack effect.
