Huge Update —Oct. 7, 2019

It's been a while since I last played this deck. Added some new thoughts to the list including Bridge from Below.

They work quite differently. Vizier of remedies is a combo piece with devoted druid. And necrotic ooze generates infinite mana if both Channeler initiate and devoted druid are in graveyard

BTW I've cut out the Necrotic Ooze + Channeler Initiate + Devoted Druid combo.

It might be a bit too slow for your deck as is, but the Karmic Guide and friends combos could be another option to add in to your deck. If you don't want to add the combo itself, some of the pieces such as Saffi Eriksdotter (To protect your other important pieces) or the utility sac outlets that go with it like Phyrexian Altar Ashnod's Altar Altar of Dementia If you don't know the combos I am talking about, look up karmic guide combo, boonweaver combo, or karador combo. Your deck is pretty sweet. +1 from me

Honestly this deck looks much much better than it did the last time I saw it. However since you are doing thrasios why not add the Basalt Monolith Rings of Brighthearth Power Artifact Grim Monolith infinite mana producers? I know you said you were trying to limit colorless mana producers but these cards win super easy with thrasios.

I also do not understand how combo 3, the Cephalid Illusionist + Lightning Greaves or Nomads en-Kor, works. How do these cards mill you out exactly?

July 4, 2017 12:22 p.m.

markszncd says... #6

Because whenever Cephalid Illusionist is targeted you have to mill three cards. You just have to use those 0 activation cost abilities to target him infinite times.

To luther:Thanks a lot, those are some very good suggestions. I think I've got enough combos and backup plans in this deck and I think what I have to do now is to find out a way to make this deck more consistent.

To Sgtpopnfreash:

I've had those cards in my decklist before. I know any infinite mana combo with THrasio as the commander is a wincon. And I just finally dropped them because I've been colorscrewed with those cards in too many matches. I'd add them back to the deck once I managed to solve the color problem.

Hi,

I think it's a good deck, I just don't know most of the cards. But I remember in a big tournements someone play those two commander and he win easily. If I remember well he play Linvala, Keeper of Silence in his too, I don't know if it is a good add to your I just don't know that kind of deck, I just remember he play it.

Linvala is a more controlish card which can be powerful in a control deck. Mine is an extremely fast combo deck thus I don't need that. It can be a bit slow for me :)

Hello, Great deck! +1 from me. I have a recommendation: Azami, Lady of Scrolls. It gets returned from Angel of Glory's Rise, and offers an additional way to draw your last card besides Eternal Witness by tapping either itself or Laboratory Maniac. It also provides a safeguard in case you draw your Eternal Witness before you get off your combo.

markszncd says... #13

I know that some decks use azami instead of Eternal Witness or Hapless Researcher. For me, Azami isn't bad at all, it's just that I've been trying to lower the amount of "combo specific" cards in my deck, and therefore only Eternal Witness is used. It's a quite useful card even if it's drawn in hand. For your concern about drawing Eternal Witness before getting off my combo, Phantasmagorian is the answer to that. After milling the library, Phantasmagorian should be in the graveyard and therefore I can discard cards in my hand for free before flashing back Dread Return. Sometimes I might have both Phantasmagorian and another combo piece which should be in the graveyard in hand. In that situation, I might have to Cabal Therapy myself to discard the combo.

I love your deck, I am in the process of building something quite similar.

I don't have a lot of experience with the card, when resolving Intuition what are your go-to search targets?

July 18, 2017 12:11 p.m.

markszncd says... #19

For example, hermit druid, reanimate, and shallow grave? It really depends on which cards you're holding, if you had a flash in hand for instance, maybe you could go for protean hulk, eternal witness, and reanimate.

Disgusting, format-breaking, boring and unfun deck. I can't say I like it, but it definetly does its job at winning games.

Still, +1.

I've been playing my similar build the past few weeks and I love it.

Out of curiosity, with Necrotic Ooze no longer in the deck do you think Buried Alive still good enough to play or is it possibly worth cutting?

August 4, 2017 4:34 p.m.

markszncd says... #22

Do you mean burying ooze, triskelion, and phyrexian devourer and then reanimate ooze? My version is to bury angel, trinket mage, and auriok salvager and then reanimate the angel. As long as there is a combo which can be completed with buried alive, i wouldn't cut it.

How does Lions Eye Diamond and Auriok Salvagers make infinite colored mana? I get that it's infinite White for Auriok Salvagers ability but all the mana has to be the same color no?
