Razaketh Reanimator EDH

Mono-Black is more powerful than it is given credit for. Razaketh, the Foulblooded is certainly one of my favorite commanders I have ever piloted and this deck has the ability to play to any situation and adapt and adjust quickly throughout the game; a trait which mono colored decks often do not exhibit.

The greatest strength of the deck is its ability to retrieve virtually whatever cards it needs essentially on demand. Razaketh, the Foulblooded 's activated ability, along with a plethora of other unconditional tutors, make it a simple task to have the right cards in hand at the right time.

Versatility

The deck can function as a control, combo, midrange, lock down or voltron style deck.

Lines

Once Raz is on the battlefield the game will dictate what is fetched. In the absence of the need to answer an impending negative situation, generally Sengir Autocrat , Necropotence or Final Parting are my first targets.

Combos

1. Aetherflux Reservoir + Bolas's Citadel + Sensei's Divining Top OR Necropotence allows us to play our whole deck while gaining an incredibly high life total. Win by Aetherflux reservoir activation or other wincon.

2. Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth + mana to begin creates unlimited colorless mana. Add Sensei's Divining Top to the combo to draw the whole deck. The unlimited mana can be dumped into Exsanguinate or Torment of Hailfire .

3. Loop Gray Merchant of Asphodel by repeatedly sacrificing to Razaketh to tutor a reanimation spell and abusing his ETB effect.

Other Interactions/ Wincons

1. Equip Grafted Exoskeleton to Raz and one shot shot people with infect.

2. Drop my life total to next to nothing and play Repay in Kind and finish off the table.

3. Contamination + Bitterblossom OR Reassembling Skeleton OR Tenacious Dead locks most opponents out from threatening plays.

4. Combat beats and reanimating the biggest baddest creatures in any GY.

The combos and wincons can be tutored with the commander and quickly and easily assembled even from the graveyard.

Final Note: I have tried to make the deck more resilient to opposing blue decks and other control strategies which are ostensibly this deck's greatest weakness. Boseiju, Who Shelters All , Cavern of Souls , Contamination , Imp's Mischief , Duress and Thoughtseize have been effective answers to this dilemma.
