My Horror Has Been UNLEASHED! —Aug. 11, 2018

W/L Ratio for Tonight: 2:1

W/L Overall: 2:1

Match 1 - Lost: vs. 5C Human

Notable cards: Mantis Rider, Meddling Mage, Noble Hierarch, and Kitesail Freebooter.

Match 2 - Won in two: vs. Angrath Planeswalker Deck

Note: the deck played at an aggro pace. I was at 3 life when I was able to pull my combo off. Next round went better.

Final Match - Won in three: vs. Orzhov Life gain/drain

Notable cards: Tainted Remedy, Blessed Alliance, Nyx-Fleece Ram, Castigate, and Rest for the Weary

Note: player's strategy involved having Tainted Remedy on his field then target me for the Life gain. Using counter spells like Mana Leak and Spell Pierce did the trick later on.

Budget sideboard reccomendations- 1 duress, four Despise, four Cry of Contrition, three Wrench Mind and three Languish/Mutilate. Just update your hate to match your opponent. In burn metas, you might want Golden Urn or w/e.

Looking to even out your manabase without breaking the bank? Grixis Panorama is almost playable, and there are various taplands with upsides.

Those are some pretty good sideboard ideas. I have also thought about adding at least 3 Void Snare; one player I know of in my FNM, whenever he plays, uses Gideon of the Trials. It's really the only reason why he won against my other deck a few times.

Look at my decks Open Skull Lobotomy or [Primer] - Altar of the Heartless Duskcrank for some suggestions. Both sat at #1 for a time. +1

Thank you for showing me your suggestions and supporting my deck. Tbh it was your first deck that inspired me to add Gut Shot to this deck. In the future when I start building my sideboard I'll make sure to check out your suggestions again.

I like that idea, don't know how well it'll fit. I'll just add it to my maybeboard and try it out in a casual game. Oh, and thanks for appreciating my description. Idk if anyone could notice but I played Borderland 2 that night lol

Piranha Marsh for good measure?

It would be a nice free trigger card for the combo, and if the combo is not ready yet it'll at least keep things sorta under pressure for the opponent. Who knows? I might try it sometime.

Maybe even Sunscorched Desert could work. Sure, it wouldn't be able to provide the right mana I'd need for most of the combo, but it'd help with other spells. And again, a good way to trigger the combo.

Geth's Verdict is probably better of the 1 life-loss.

This is glorious and might just be the deck that gets me to play Modern.
