After almost 8 years of a magic pause, Kathril, Aspect Warper was the first edh deck i got my hands on and i am still liking it a lot. I casually played with the precon version for almost one year until i dived into the magic: the gathering rabbit hole again and made some serious adjustments. Now I proudly present the result:

Most Kathril decks i've been looking at try to fill your own graveyard and work with numerous reanimate spells to profit from it. Fair enough. But actually i just need three creatures ( Zetalpa, Primal Dawn, Bassara Tower Archer and Vampire Nighthawk ) in my graveyard which give me overall 9 keyword counters and therefore 9 +1/+1 counters for my commander, which is enough for lethal commander damage thanks to double strike. So i want quality over quantity in my graveyard. Buried Alive, Jarad's Orders, Corpse Connoisseur, Gravebreaker Lamia, Vile Entomber and Fauna Shaman should help me to accomplish this.

So instead of using tons of self mill and reanimate cards i am utilizing the fact that Kathrils ability is an ETB effect, by putting in a lot of flicker mechanics like Teleportation Circle, Conjurer's Closet, Cloudshift, Flicker, Mimic Vat, Restoration Angel, Flicker of Fate or Ephemerate. To go completely bonkers with it there's also a The Ozolith luring in the deck.

With all the counter distribution going on i need more targets than just my commander. I don't like the idea of going voltron every single time as it tends to become quite repetitive and it usually puts a big target on you once that 12/12 indestructible, hexproof, double strike, lifelink... creature is on the table. So i try to develop my board a little more versatile and unobtrusive by giving all the counters primarily to supporting creatures like Old Stickfingers, Soul of Innistrad,Hydra Omnivore or Majestic Myriarch to turn them into an unstoppable force of a keyword army.

But my commander isn't my only flicker option. Based on the game situation i have creatures like Acidic Slime, Hornet Queen, Shadowgrange Archfiend (with Fauna Shaman this is my favorite combo in the deck), Slippery Bogbonder or Sunblast Angel that i am more than happy to flicker over and over again as well to give me all kinds of removals or additional blockers without taking to many card slots. If i manage to get the Restoration Angel+Panharmonicon+Felidar Guardian combo out, i can flicker endlessly to profit even more from etb effects.

Alternatively i can still go voltron with my commander at almost any stage of the game if the momentum seems right to me. On top of that, there's Akroma, Vision of Ixidor to pump up my creatures even more. To protect myself and above all my graveyard i have Enduring Angel  .

Fluffwise we have a deck where elves, zombies, vampires, humans, dwarves, monsters and even angels and demons are all being manipulated to work together and ultimately sacrifice themselves to be consumed, unified and reincarnated into one terrible insect nightmare to rule the plane. Now that's some sinister stuff!

So please let me know what you think about it or leave some advice if there are any cool cards that might fit the theme. As i want to keep this (kind of) a budget thing i won't be considering cards that cost more than 10€.

Special shoutout to bushido_man96 and Vessiliana for the great input and inspiration ;)

I actually wanted to leave this deck as it was. But with the release of of the gorgeous Dominaria remastered Set, lucky me got a Worldly Tutor, an Enlightened Tutor, Birds of Paradise and Entomb, so i just had to upgrade my pet deck with this. Since i barely get to play the combo Felidar Guardian + Panharmonicon + Restoration Angel i thought these two tutors might be good opportunity to force this more often and to give me a more reliable alternative wincon, as the usual "make commander big and go smash-smash" strategy gets a bit predictable after a while for my opponents.
So putting these four gems in were no-brainers - the harder decisions were which one of the 99 i had to take out for them. So the ones i chose to cut were:
Taking out Skull Prophet and replacing it with Birds of Paradise was the easiest one. As you might already have noticed from my previous comments i am not a fan of randomness, so i never really used the prohets' self-mill ability (and if i did it usually turned out to be not very effective). So this is all about being a mana dork and nothing beats the bird when it comes to this.
Solemn Recruit i always thought adding all the +1/+1 counters with all the flickering going on might be a neat thing, especially with its double strike ability. But in reality this never happened, because once i start flickering all over the board i am in a very good spot already and that growing extra body just doensn't make a big impact to it.
Life's Legacy yes, it gives me carddraw and i should probably leave it in there. But this card was idle so many times in my hands as i usually have no intention in sacrificing the (big) creatures i have on the board. I am still struggling with this decisions, maybe you have a better idea on which card to take out instead? As always, help is always appreciated.
Liliana, Dreadhorde General Despite myself saying earlier it is staying in for the lols, i took her out. It just wasn't the right spot for her and after this deck is becoming more and more of a high power deck i wasn't feeling it anymore. The same thing goes for ye' big ol' trampler Titanoth Rex, since i never had any situation where this guy was useful to me. So instead i added two ramp staples: Nature's Lore and Farseek
Scoured Barrens with adding two more ramp spells i felt bold enough to live with 36 instead of 37 lands and i wanted to get rid of the taplands anyway (but that's another story for another time, once i am financially recovered again). So the last free spot goes to Entomb which doesn't need any further explanation. It's just an awesome one mana drop, that lets me exactly do, what i want to do with this deck.

So there you have it, please let me know what you think about these knew adjustments :)
