Hedron Crab and Misty Rainforest —Dec. 7, 2014

Even though it adds $170 to the price of the deck, I thought it would be a good idea to replace Jace's Erasure with Hedron Crab and add four Misty Rainforests for the Landfall ability.

i think you should side 4 Witchbane Orb or some other form of rdw hat because you fuel their deck so much it might kill you

I already have 3 sideboarded. Are you saying I should go to 4? And thanks. I'll consider that Academy Ruins thing.

yes i was. I was just wondering why the other spells in the side? Gitaxian Probe isn't much of a side card and Defend the Hearth is so.. replaceable. There's a reason no one runs it sideboard

you also might want to consider something along the lines of Reliquary Tower or Venser's Journal so that your Consecrated Sphinx + Forced Fruition combo doesn't go to waste

The Gitaxian Probe is I guess for whenever you need to take a card out and can't think of anything to replace, since it basically almost thins the deck down a bit. The Defend the Hearth was kind of an I can't think of anything better right this second type of thing. Plus, it was right after I got killed by a fast creature aggro deck, so I thought I should side in more prevents just for that. I've never been good at sideboarding. What do you think I should sideboard, aside from the Witchbane Orb?

Oh, no. I've playtested the deck a lot. I've never been in a situation where discarding down to seven has been a problem.

It really depends on your meta (the decks you normally face). If your face creature heavy decks, i would suggest Polymorphist's Jest. You might take some damage, but at least it's not a ton unless they're playing tokens. other good removal include Creeping Corrosion and Back to Nature if you play against aura/ constellation or affinity commonly. Draw mechanics are never really sideboard cards. i would suggest moving several to main and maybe taking out 1-2 Vision Skeins, 1-2 Consecrated Sphinx, and/or 1 Mindslaver. other good draw spells in the format include Sleight of Hand and Taigam's Scheming
