Maybeboard

My take on Reyhan and Ishai for long games... typically kingdom. Honestly, after coming across numerous builds for these two I noticed alot of players run many creatures, counter providers etc etc... but I find this strategy of going wide tends to be extremely glass cannon. One board wipe and that usually is it. And honestly, no offence, but i find some of the highest rating decks for these two partner commanders on this site run out of gas far too quickly, especially in multiplayer games when people run alot more removal.

The solution?

Reanimation, Recurrence and Resilience.

With this build, I employ elements of voltron, pillowfort/recursion and brostorm elements. You'll want to play ishai and then draw with our storm cards into defensive cards like cauldron of souls or an asceticism. This deck is exceptional from mid to late game as you'll have your pillowfort cards out on the table and you can eventually draw into or tutor for a late game fat eldrazi. Yes! I'm a timmy that also loves playing big stuff. Please note that this deck is meant to win through pure combat damage, and I only have one infinite combo covered below for that reason. Otherwise, there are many synergistic things you can do with the high power level of this list, so the deck is still a blast to pilot.

I can almost guarantee that you'll never run out of gas with this build. I run a highly competitive selvala build so I reused some elements from that such as life's legacy and souls majesty. I realised Ishai usually survives a full round and no one kills her on sight (usually) so that means when you play her on turn 3 she's usually a 4/4 or 5/5 by turn 4, allowing you to curve nicely into souls majesty or return of the wild speaker to fill up your hand again. So if you love drawing cards too, this deck is for you!

Regular combos involve Reyhan and Blade of selves. I saw a few other decks on tappedout featuring rite of replication etc but i believe if you cast a kicked RoR its definitely overkill and a waste of resources. The opponent is definitely going to die with 21 combat damage, there is no need to do 100 damage unless your plan is to humiliate your opponent. Anyway, most other cloning effects are also one offs, and Reyhan is not very good at a direct attack because she lacks flying. I rather focus on Ishai's slightly more maneuverability and her ability to get big fast to profit off it. If you're still looking for that surprise kill, we have tainted strike and solidarity of heroes to finish the job, which in my opinion, since it can happen at instant speed, is definitely better than a sorcery speed rite of replication.

One infinite combo I have involves yahenni, woodfall primus and the ozolith to blow up everyone's lands.

  • The ozolith works because it removes the -1/-1 counters from the primus when it leaves the battlefield... Figured this part of the combo out myself haha so I'm pretty sure no one will see it coming.

A similar route is using greater good and yahenni and primus, but with each round discarding kozilek/ulamog to shuffle your graveyard into your deck. Be careful about this route because you put yourself at risk of decking yourself, so do it only if you really have to remove something(s) on the field.

  • Final tip on how to shuffle your deck properly: Split 100 card deck in half. Properly shuffle each half (6 or 7 mashes) then mash both halves together, then cut it.

Updates Add

Equipment and artifact update! Replaced chrome mox for three visits because very card counts... its a bit painful sometimes if we are looking for shocklands but the additional benefit of coming into play untapped can make up for very efficient turns with your mana usage.

Added in some new swords for pseudo protection as well as planeswalker and artifact removal! (i have someone in my playgroup that loves boardwipes and he plays superfriends, so this addition is just for him)
