I love the combination of using Explore to cycle through lands/useful cards and then getting an added benefit from the Explore triggers. If you have to name a creature type, such as with Vanquisher's Banner, it's usually best to name Scout. The amount of life you can gain from Wildgrowth Walker triggers can usually make up for some of the slow starts that you can experience, especially if you have multiples on the board. Add some Ravenous Chupacabra triggers to clear the opponent's board for good measure. Shadowed Caravel might be a bit unnecessary, but it becomes a growing threat as you get more and more explore triggers. Note, I didn't even include Path of Discovery, but there is definitely nothing wrong with that. In my playtesting, I have found that it is fairly easy to get 10 permanents on board with Ascend, and that mana is usually not a problem.
