Sideboard

This deck is now a control deck that is capable of defeating even established meta decks; but this wasn't always the case. The deck looked very different in the beginning. I played a lot against Faeries and decided to make a deck just against them, so I made a deck that was full of boardwipes in the mainboard. It was just a gimmick deck that worked better against other creature-heavy decks than against Faeries. It was very hard to make enough damage to kill bigger creatures and without card advantage it couldn't fulfill it's purpose so I put it aside.

As I gained more experience I realised that even though the old deck wasn't good, it was still a good shell for a much better deck, I just needed to cut most of the boardwipes and add more targeted removal and more card draw. So this control deck was born and almost right away it won some games. Most of the time I have to play it as a control deck but sometimes it acts more like a burn deck; all depends on the circumstances. Even against Faeries it's better than the old deck was with like 16 boardwipes.

The conclusion is that a well made deck that has card advantage works better than a gimmick deck. Who would've thought? Now I have a deck that is really fun, works well right from the start and can reach a top 3 spot in a tournament. I'll keep playing it to see if it can gain good scores in the future still.
