New set, new cards, and a new Esper control deck. This one has been solid so far on Arena and I'm eager to take this to paper. Here's the way to play

EARLY GAME Show

Clean board is a good board; but now you also have Mortify to get rid of enchantments. Once again, try to keep the board as clean as possible. 4 Absorbs are going to help you out-race alot of decks. Thought Erasure as much as you can, and try to take out your opponent's next play; if you can. Cry of the Carnarium is a very good early game sweeper; as it gets most of the big early game threats. Negate is in the main board because there's alot of good early spells that can ruin your day.

MID-GAME Show

Vraska's Contempt and Kaya's Wrath becomes available. With 3 Wraths you can be a little gun-happy, but don't be too gun happy, especially against Gogari when their Find / Finality can bring back a Carnage Tyrant . Teferi is Teferi, not much more that needs to be said. You have more than enough card draw to keep your hand full.

LATE GAME Show

Chromium, the Mutable is your wild card. Big body; hexproof, and flash will give your opponent nightmares for days. Use him when you have alot of cards in hand to keep him alive.

SIDEBOARD Show

Duress : Anti-control. That is all

Thief of Sanity : This card is a workhorse, and can win you the game on its own. Stealing spells is a huge deal.

Hostage Taker : Got a big threat you want to use, the hostage taker is your man. One of the things I like is that when it takes a Hydroid, when the taker dies the Hydroid Krasis comes back as a 0/0. Good insurance policy

The Eldest Reborn : Hexproof, planeswalkers, and other really big nasties can't do much when they are forced to be sac'd. The best part is being able to bring something back and use it. This is a really strong card and should be used when needed.

Lyra Dawnbringer : She is a beast. Scary and very very powerful. Use her in creature heavy matchups, ESPECIALLY mono-red and Rakdos burn, as her presence will likely win you the game against these decks.

Unmoored Ego : Hydroid Krasis , Nexus of Fate , planeswalkers, they ALL are major threats; the Krasis especially because of its cast trigger. This will nullify that threat.
