Blooming Marsh and CoCo —Nov. 2, 2016

Got a couple Blooming Marsh (swapped for a swamp and a forest) and finally a Collected Company. Made a few other adjustments: took out my 2 Eldritch Evolution, one replaced by CoCo and the other by an Elvish Mystic - I'd like to get at least one more CoCo in the deck when I can find one. Also moved my second Eyeblight Massacre to sideboard and my second Sudden Spoiling onto mainboard, and got two Pulse of Murasa in my sideboard in place of a Hero's Downfall and a Fog.

I really like your twist on Elves you have made here. I have played Elves in Commander, Modern and standard and they always find a way to make things competitive. I understand that isn't exactly what you are going for here but I think a few changes could definitely not change up your deck a whole lot and make it run a lot smoother. I think a playset of llanowar elves and elvish mystic is a must, early game ramp is going to make your deck a turn faster in almost every game. I also think you should look to run 3 Ezuri Renegade leader, he is the win condition in Elves. Also, if you are going to run Nissa Revane, you should be running a copy of Nissa's chosen as this is one of her options. Anyway, that's my advice from a fellow Elf player, and I think the deck is awesome.

Thanks Scottbro20! Yeah I used to run more mana dorks but I think I got put off by the fact that they are such constant bolt bait and easy targets for other removal and counters. Idk why I had dropped them to 6, mainly just making room I think, but I like 7 as a number to run - it gives me one more slot to work with instead of having a full 8, but in my playing with 7 I still see them most every opening hand. I agree Ezuri is really important, but I think because of a similar reason with the mana dorks, I just know that when I play him he will get bolted or countered or something because he's so dangerous. All the more reason to have more of him I suppose but I also feel I have enough buffing with other elves to still reach a similar end without him, albeit not as quickly and without the benefit of trample and regenerate. I only have 2 of him so I'll leave it at that for now, but I also have a Gilt-Leaf Archdruid in there which honestly could be another alternative win con. And yes, I really should put a Nissa's Chosen in. I didn't think it was that important and wanted to save the slot for other things, but I just recently played a casual game where towards the end all I had out was Nissa, and if I had of had Nissa's Chosen in the deck I could have fetched it as a chump blocker and bought myself at least another turn or two.

But thanks again! Elf players are always so helpful lol.
