Under the cover of harmless 0/1 Egg tokens, Atla cultivates her children into a force to be reckoned with...

As soon as Atla was revealed, I knew she was destined to be my Naya commander (sorry, Zacama, you can wait). This build revolves around cheating massive creatures with value into play, primarily the Eldrazi titans, using Atla's activated ability.

The deck itself is extremely resilient, able to recover from boardwipes and push through stax with relative ease. However, the deck is not favorable in the political aspect - Annihilator X always paints a target on my back and can quickly turn a game into Archenemy.

Notable Weaknesses:

  • Suffers when sacrifice outlets are unavailable

  • Lacks card draw

  • Brings in a LOT of salt with Elesh Norn or Annihilator X triggers (I've gone up to Annihilator 16 with Illusionist's Bracers and Strionic Resonator on the field)

After testing Atla against multiple pods, I realized that the moment the deck does what it is built to do, the game immediately changes to archenemy mode. It's extremely difficult to put an end to the egg-Eldrazi nonsense and it can really traumatize some players.

The most notable ways to crush the deck in its entirety is to kill the commander on sight or to utilize MLD/targeted land destruction.

This deck can be an absolute powerhouse and ruin games for people, so I'm choosing to play Atla only every once in a while instead.
