EDH "Finishers" toolkit

Commander / EDH*

After countless decks that failed because they were too weak, I eventually made a mono-black deck with a high density of cards that can create an army by casting just one card. Months later, I was still creating weaker decks and hadn't realized I just wasn't using enough finishers.

This list is to remind myself about cards that will either end the game immediately, or must be answered in 1 to 2 turns or an excessively overwhelming advantage will be generated. These cards must require very little support in the deck (no Exsanguinate, Genesis Wave, Narset, Enlightened Master, Warp World, Purphoros, God of the Forge, or other cards that are situationally powerful and require either a dedicated strategy or 15+ mana).

.

END-GAME ASSUMPTIONS:

These cards assume that all players have some kind of strong creatures in their decks (the vast majority of decks use creatures in some way)

No infinite combos.

Each player has maybe one or two large (5/5 or bigger) creatures on the battlefield

All players have 7 or more lands in play

All players have graveyards with at least 2 creatures and 2 non-creature spells (not counting fetchlands)

Most players are at 20-30 life, with one player possibly at 10-19 life
