Control Meta —Jan. 3, 2018

The major updates to the list of late are the addition of Rhystic Study, Voltaic Key, and Demonic Consultation to the list in the place of Helm of Awakening, Copy Artifact, and Grim Tutor. Essentially, Study comes in to help with the slower meta/more creature heavy spells. DC makes Lab Man less dead a significant portion of the time. Voltaic Key combos with Pengine and Top to draw our deck. The cuts: Helm comes out because it's dead too often. Grim Tutor always felt clunky, but it may come back in at some point. Copy Artifact combo is kind of silly. If you can't win with Iso-Rev and infinite mana, you have bigger problems.

There was also the swap of Winds of Rebuke for Cyclonic Rift. It's the same role, but in the slower meta, answering just one stax piece or whatever often just isn't enough. Thus C Rift rejoins the team, and we part ways with Winds for now.

That's all for this update, but more updates are soon to come with details added to the primer. :)

Hey buildingadeckI really like your deck lot and I currently am in the process of building my own Dralnu, Lich Lorddeck myself. I do have one question... How as Copy Artifactbeen playing for you? I saw on reddit that you use it to copy opponents mana rocks, but you also mentionned Swan combo and I wondered what was the actual combo?

thegigibeast: Swan combo isn't a go-to line for me, but if you have Isochron Scepter + Paradox Engine, you can imprint something like High Tide on Scepter. Then you play Copy Artifact targeting Isochron Scepter, and you imprint Swan Song. This allows you to make infinite, non-hasty birds, but if both Lab Man and Reservoir are exiled or something, it's another win condition. It's just seldomly seen.

Generally-speaking, though, Copy Artifact is essentially another mana rock the majority of the time.
