A Mardu spellslinger style of deck is a deck I've always been interested with, but could never build a good deck around due to the lack of a strong central theme, and also not having access to the more powerful blue instants and sorceries. It also doesn't help that there are no Mardu commanders that would give me a strong enough lead for a deck design. The most popular commanders for this build are Krark, the Thumbless and Vial Smasher the Fierce both paired with some other less valuable partner, but this ends up not working as Krark, the Thumbless is purely based on chance, and can be a real feel bad, and Vial Smasher the Fierce would be flinging maybe 4 damage a turn. Instead I decided on building my deck loosely around the most exciting new card from Strixhaven Dragon's Approach, and less around the commander. By being able to add multiple copies of a card to my deck, it gives it a more focused way of taking out my opponents, and an easier build around. I have made sure that other cards in this deck will be able to increase the power of my Dragon's Approach, such as cards like Dictate of the Twin Gods, and Radiant Scrollwielder or help me sift through my deck to find more Dragon's Approach. Although I do call this deck my Dragon's Approach deck, it still plays quite a bit of other spells that can act well when a Dragon's Approach isn't around. Mana Geyser gets you such an absurd amount of mana you'll probably be able to play your whole hand. Allure of the Unknown lets me fill up my hand with very minimal downside, likely only drawing me more Dragon's Approach. Overall, combined with several strong spell payoff effects like Guttersnipe for damage, and Storm-Kiln Artist for ramp, this deck can pack a serious punch to the table, and plays in a colors that are unexpected for the archetype.
