Minor Tweak 2 —March 24, 2017

Removed:

  • Island

  • Misdirection

  • Turnabout

  • Intuition

  • Merchant Scroll

Added:

  • Savannah

  • Isochron Scepter

  • Dramatic Reversal

  • Remand

  • Azorius Signet

The short of all of this is, after more testing, High Tide lines were not winning us the game, but were facilitating a secondary combo. To bolster the decks diverse win methods, we have added the Dramatic Scepter Combo (and another rock to make it more feasibile) and slightly weakened our High Tide combo turns. We also swapped an Island for Savannah to ease up the mana.

I've been watching Labratory Maniacs and saw this deck and it made me curious because I also have a fairly competitive Thrasios/Tymna build, excluding land base for monetary reasons, which functions different than yours. Mine has more of a focus on reanimation and the likes (it's not online anywhere yet). Do you think this is the best competitive version of this deck? And if so, why do you think that?

Hey, thanks for watching! I would love to see your list when you get it online at some point. I can't say for sure, since I haven't seen every possible build, but I do think this is one of the absolute strongest ways to build this, and honestly one of the most fun. I go over it in detail in my primer linked in the description, but in short, this deck plays several diverse win conditions, and can pretty seamlessly transition between them if one gets cut off via removal/hate.

Ironically that's why I have my deck built the way I do, but it just attacks the problem from a different angle. I just uploaded my list, Thrasios Hermit Ooze. I'm aware of the land issue, but other than that I would like your thoughts, maybe compare ideas.

Ahhh you don't want to talk to me then! What you have their is the less optimal version of what tenrose and chemtails have been tinkering with. Here is a link to his deck if you want to discuss things with him. You can also join one of the discords if you want more active feedback on your deck.

Hi! I really loved your deck, found the concept unique and built it for myself. Ive made a few changes that I wanted to share with u, that made the deck a bit more consistent. I took Culling and Serum out and included Dark Petition and a Nature's Claim. Dark Petition serves mainly to search for a Doomsday and Nature's brings a bit more control (witch I found a bit lacking in the deck). Ive also been playing with the idea to include Time Spiral, taking a green dork out and also to take the signet out and include Lim-Dul's Vault. What do u think? And no, I would not include the Scepter package. It would be jet another combo u have to search for.

Sounds an awful lot like you're turning his deck into mine ;)

Curious as to why there is a snow covered island included. Does is serve any special purpose?

Since it's functionally identical to an Island, there's no reason not to run one just in case someone's trying to get cute with Extraplanar Lens.
