i would add 1 or 2 more land. other than that, this deck in really great and gets a +1 from me!

I also brewed up a mono red version.
Its slower, but a lot more grindy, with more diverse threats. One of my goals was to change the deck in such a way that grave hate would not really hinder it, and the opportunity cost of playing such cards would mean that they harm more my opponent than me (think something like playing gravehate against snapcaster mage).
Imho your deck seems dangerously close to "dredge with Hollow One & Flameblade Adept" i say dangerously, because its pretty hard to out-dredge dredge. In you postion i would play some cards to protect my grave (like Cranial Archive), and some hate against decks that can be reliably faster than you, like storm, various griselbrand reanimator strategies, infect and the like.

Hello Xica,
Thanks for the input! Have you by chance tested this deck against dredge? I've tested it against infect, and it's been tested against a griselbrand reanimator deck. As for the grave hate cards, that's what the sideboard is for(if the grave hate is problematic). This deck can reliably go off turn 2-3, and cards intended to be played from the grave, are not intended to hang around in the grave for multiple turns(although it may happen, it's a chance based game). With that statement in mind, what good are grave hate cards, when the cards they are intending to hurt, are already on the field... I know Demigod of Revenge may seem like a more diverse threat but, firstly, it on avg., hangs around in the graveyard longer then lets say Vengevine, and secondly, 2 DemiGods (at least one in the grave, one in hand) are required to get the most of it.

Thoughts on fetch lands to filter out mountains from your draw spells, and have more wiggle room for bringing bloodghast back from grave?

Werebere90 thanks for your input and upvote!
Actually, I've playtested this deck with various land setups and for reasons it remains all mountains. I believe the best reason for it to stay as is, is mainly against aggro (Infect,Burn,Hollow one etcetera). That 1-3 damage resulting from just a few fetch lands can become a loss. As for Bloodghast, I feel it plays just fine without fetch lands. This could be due to the fact that the deck doesn't really need any more than 3 lands to function and does well with just 2 in play. Most of the the time, after the third land has been played, I'd wheel and deal any extra or save them until I could but, try keeping 1 land card in hand for a precautionary backup if Bloodghast has been or will be a thing during a game (unless of course the side deck swaps being used, play more lands in that situation).

Adding all the fetch lands makes the deck a bit more expensive but, it allows for Gurmag Angler to be added to the main and a sideboard that can counter certain deck builds. Included in the sideboard are cards that protect its own strategy from cards like Leyline of the Void, Chalice of the Void and Waste Not.

Wow. I am... thoroughly impressed. This is a fantastic build.
Why is it that you run a single land that can produce a black mana, but you can't fetch for it? What's the likelihood of actually being able to find it? What do you do if you find yourself wanting to hard cast prized amalgam but can't find the land?
How much luck have you had running this deck in a competitive meta? I really want to try building it but I'm not made of money, lmao.

fury157 thanks for the upvote!
Correct me if I'm wrong, fetch lands in modern can fetch dual lands that match one of the stated colors on the fetch land. So, 12 lands that can make a black mana.
I no longer play competitively but, I've playtested it against many of the top decks in the modern format and it does quite well(even decks with grave hate). Resist making the deck all foils... makes it a lot cheaper.

Sorry, that was a total typo. I meant blue, haha. Yeah, you are correct about fetch lands fetching any land with the basic subtypes. I did a bunch of playtesting with the build and noticed the blue mana was never needed, so honestly I'd say either replace it with a steam vents so you can fetch it or just a mountain, lmao.
I also noticed that replacing all the foils with non-foiled versions, and replacing the 3 goblin lores with 3 more cathartic reunions makes the deck roughly $750. I couldn't find any other way to cut prices without hindering the deck significantly, but once I'm done with my burn deck I'll have most of the expebsive cards in this list (the goblin guides and fetch lands, anyway), so I think i'm actually going to build this. It'll be a while, a long while, but once it is done I will absolutely let you know how it goes.
As a final note, in a competitive setting, you're going to want to diversify your fetches as much as possible. Mostly for pithing needles tbh. I noticed every single one of your fetchable lands is a mountain, so for eight fetches I would recommend 2 wooded foothills, 2 bloodstained mire, 2 arid mesas, and 2 scalding tarn. There's a reason you really have to commit to going for that last one, I'd onlt do it for "a fully optimized" build, which i'd only ever buy if I was taking it to a pro tour or something.

Ol_man Im totaly jellous! i came here as you commented on my try of hollow one/ madness deck altho i couldnt afford this one anyway! Im kinda sceptical for Prized Amalgam i think its simply way slow but thats something that needs to be found out via testing. What about Lightning Berserker for pulling out vengevines.

Arclight Phoenix is a lot better than Flamewake so I would recommend updating the list.

buckeyetron Fixed them. You missed one, it should've been lively "Cards" not "Card". Thanks for the proof reading.
