Disciples of Mathas a summary Show

This is a deck that relies heavily on playing the politics of EDH. Your goal is to use your opponents to deal with threats in exchange for card advantage, mana rocks, and a show of trust. Your opponents will want to curry favors with you to gain an upper hand against their opposition. However, there can be only one winner...

Taxing Effects

Taxing attacks to discourage your opponents is a pretty large part of the deck to keep you alive to get your politics on or to combo off. Cards that tax attacking, like Baird, Steward of Argive and Windborn Muse are great to keep your opponents away from you early in the game. Orzhov Advokist is a psudo-tax effect. If your opponent takes the +1/+1's then you know you're relatively safe for a turn from them. Also, it pumps their creatures to deal more damage to your opponents.

Your opponents also will be sinking mana into effects like, Xantcha, Sleeper Agent to draw cards and drain opponents. It, again, keeps you in the game for the card advantage.
