Diaochan was believed to be one of the Four Ancient Beauties of China. Though evidence suggests that she is mostly fictional, she is a major player in the history of the Eastern Han dynasty. She is the cause for the warrior Lu Bu to betray and kill his foster father: the tyrannical warlord Dong Zhuo. According to the historical records, an unnamed maid had an affair with Lu Bu and because he was afraid of his foster father discovering this treason, he betrayed and assassinated Dong Zhuo in 192. Diaochan's name was placed upon this unnamed maid.

Diaochan played with fire when she seduced and played the men off against each other. She was ready to play a dangerous game of politics that eventually burned her along with them. That is what this deck attempts to emulate: political burning. Yes, I burn and play my opponents but I may end up on the other end of my own game. Utilising the power of fire Planeswalkers - Chandra, Jaya, Sarkhan and Tibalt - as well as Elementals, Dragons and other fire creatures, the folklore Diaochan's tricks and seductions will pale in comparison to the army of her MTG counterpart. Most of the creatures will be used as bargaining tools; Diaochan herself is one of them.

Mana Flare: everyone has mana. I have been so generous to probably save someone from mana screw; do you want a deal? Aria of Flame gives every opponent 10 life ... but what will you do to keep it? Especially if it has saved your life from an aggro deck. My leylines are useful but not always necessary; they certainly help stall lifegain decks.

I know people hate Mono-Red aggro; I have had enough times in Magic Arena where people think I play Mono-Red and have scooped when I am playing a derpy Gruul deck that I based entirely on nature. However, I hope that my opponents will find this deck a bit more bearable. I hope you have enjoyed looking at it!

Raven Rose.
