Definitely not Boreclaw

Commander / EDH Mono-Green

Doc_Hammertime

This deck has been built to maximize Goreclaw's signature ability that creature's you cast with power 4 or greater cost 2 less to cast. There are a ton of ways I've seen the 99 built around Goreclaw - everything from a tribal bear deck, to the biggest, meanest green stompy boys like Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger or Craterhoof Behemoth. That said, my thought here was to spam 4 to 6 power creatures, mostly with ETB or combat effects.

The mana base is very easy with mono green, so the majority of the 38 total lands are basic forests. That said, there are some other I'd recommend here. If you end up going the 'spam' route, you're going to end up with a board state that is quite the envy of your playgroup, so lands like Homeward Path (get all your stuff back) or Yavimaya Hollow (regenerate after board wipes) will add a ton of value here. Cultivate, Nature's Lore, and (especially) Skyshroud Claim will accelerate your mana base, so when you are casting 3 or 4 creatures by mid game you can buff them up with Oran-Rief, the Vastwood. You'll keep your hand fresh and restocked by drawing a ton with Colossal Majesty, Elemental Bond, or the Primordial Sage.

Let's get in to the heart of this deck. The idea, again, was to spam 4 to 6 power creatures that all have some sort of useful ETB or lasting effect. If you want to get rid of that mana rock or enchantment, cast Indrik Stomphowler or Conclave Naturalists. Whiptongue Hydra will help you clear the skies. Prowling Serpopard will give you the protection you need to start going crazy with wincons. Once you get the board into a desired state, it's time to swing, and swing hard. Ghalta, Primal Hunger is positively broken in this deck, and I usually cast it for the only two green. Rhonas the Indomitable for a single green? Sure! Vigor, Soul of the Harvest and Archetype of Endurance round out the biggest creatures packed into the deck. Fangren Firstborn and Thunderfoot Baloth will help you get the most out of your attacking creatures, and if all else fails, cast your Overwhelming Stampede to overpower in a turn. Triumph of the Hordes is a new add for Zendikar Resurgent and should be a win con on its own.

There isn't a ton of protection outside of your creature's abilities, so Beast Within and Heroic Intervention are must haves and Constant Mists straight up wins games on it's own.

If you're thinking of building around Goreclaw, you do so pretty effectively on a responsible budget and it will still function well enough without pricier cards slotted like Sylvan Library, Yavimaya Hollow and Homeward Path.

You could do worse!
