This deck is based off of staceyonthetrombone's Athreos deck, which I've made a few tweaks to adjust to my play style.

This deck focuses on ETB and Death effects, using open sacrifice mechanics to achieve this goal. This earned the deck the name Death and Taxes originally, as it focuses around death, and the tax that Athreos asks for once the creature has perished. Red Tape now comes from having to patch up the one weakness I've found with the deck, in that mono-red burn does not allow for a stable board state. A few changes put in such as Story Circle and Avacyn, Angel of Hope so that I can have protection against board wipes. Absolute Law provides a necessary padding to not just my creatures, but everyone's creatures that keep the global burn spells from just wreaking havoc on the entire board state of a game. Death, Taxes, and Red Tape...nothing like paying for a little government protection.
