Deck Theme

Dead Silence is a blue-black deck that focuses on a split tactic of zombies and milling. Zombies make up most of the creature cards within the deck. Many of the creatures are either Zombie-themed lords, such as Death Baron and Diregraf Captain, or generate Zombie creature tokens to supplement the non-token cards, such as Cleaver Skaab or Forlorn Pseudamma. The sorceries and instants generate card advantage, either by milling your opponents or by drawing cards. Meanwhile, Army of the Damned provides a potential late-game play that can be repeated from the graveyard to boost your numbers. The enchantments such as Endless Ranks of the Dead *f-pre* support the Zombies even further, multiplying their numbers and allowing the artifacts such as Embalmer's Tools to provide extra uses for your growing army.

The Planeswalkers and Gods will support the deck's themes and increase your chances of victory. Jace, Unraveler of Secrets and Thassa, God of the Sea have scry abilities that allow you to improve your chances of good draws. Liliana, the Last Hope can be used to weaken threats and keep attackers at bay until she gets enough counters to activate her emblem and ensure your forces keep expanding. Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver and Phenax, God of Deception provide strong foundations for the deck with their milling capabilities.

The deck can run costly, but if you're able to get enough draw early on it becomes a dangerous force to bargain with even without pumping additional spells due to its token generating effects.
