Why Daxos?

Daxos of Meletis

We want a cheap commander that can be casted out early then polymorphed.

Lavinia, Azorious Renegade is a possible commander as she is 2 cmc and serves as a control element later on. But she is usually viewed as a staxy commander and hence you get focussed on very early, or other people will hold up interaction just to kill your commander.

However, Daxos usually falls under the radar, provides pseudo-card advantage, can cast creatures / polymorph fodder from opponents, and has a lifegain inbuilt, all for 3-cmc.

Combos

Mind Over Matter + Pristine Talisman + Drogskol Reaver = infinite colourless, infinite draw, infinite lifegain. Untap some blue sources for Jace, Wielder of Mysteries for the win

Dramatic Reversal + Isochron Scepter = infinite mana, infinite cast triggers. With Contemplation, Tablet of the Guilds, Aetherflux Reservoir, its infinite life
