Deck History

Darigaaz has always been one of my more difficult decks to build, originally it had a slight recursion theme with good stuff Jund creatures and make it go wide and stompy stuff. One of my good friends suggested a theme and the more I thought about it, the better it sounded. I threw out a lot of ideas when I was brainstorming what type of deck I wanted to build for Darigaaz. This current revision is a tribal deck build with Dragons, not made for competitive games but for wreaking havoc with DRAGONS! With that being said I present you Darigaaz's Everlasting Carnage.

Deck Piloting

The main goal of Darigaaz is very Timmy-esque, essentially the end game is to ramp, accumulate resources, and than lay the smack down with a multitude of dragons. Your wins most of the time will be either via combat damage or by triggering Dragon Tempest or Scourge of Valkas .

Early game your main focus is to gain as much advantage over your opponents by either ramping or accumulating more resources than your opponent. Cost reducers are also a pivotal point for you to cast your dragons far earlier than your opponents can handle them. Vital key points for us is to drop down haste enablers, cost reducers, as well as ramp for resources as Darigaaz is a mana intensive deck.

Mid game you want to start building your board presence and start attacking your opponent who threatens you the most. Mainly the players who does mass creature wipes, infinite combos, or hyper aggro decks. We have a wide range of dragons that do additional effects so make use of them. Key cards for certain situations are like Steel Hellkite , Thunder Dragon , Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire . We also have several ways to protect our board state i.e., Heroic Intervention and several ways to deal with players permanents. Knowledge of what to grab in certain situations are key for us to win.

Late game is where we shine the most, at this point of the game we have the mana and resources to consistently drop threat after threat and out value the rest of the players. Sunbird's Invocation is one way to definitely overwhelm players, Zendikar Resurgent is another way to hit the value town as well as gain us card draw. Our goal in the late game is to either swarm your opponents with a legion of dragons or go off with Scourge of Valkas / Dragon Tempest . Other ways too win is also by activating the ultimate of Sarkhan, Dragonsoul .
