Esper Enchantress with a "Curse" Subtheme. Currently Oloro is at the helm as I have found through playtesting that people do not like being cursed (what's up with that?) and therefore I attract attackers quickly. The passive life gain has being key to winning many games, however Zur is in the 99 and can easily be swapped in to take the helm.

The main strategy behind the deck is to durdle and stall the game through minor stax pieces until you can begin shutting down players with curses. I have found that there is always a curse to shutdown different deck types so use the durdle/stall time to decide what curses need to be gifted to your opponents. Other utility cards include clone effects so that you needn't worry about committing your valuable resources to a single opponent. Cheated a Overwhelming Splendor onto the Archenemy? Great! Now Copy Enchantment it onto whoever might be ready to take their place!

Combo/Synergies:

  • -The card that started it all, Curse of Misfortunes. A one card powerhouse, this gets all the best out for free!
  • -Pair your Lost Auramancers with a Solemnity to have him die on the spot and put any enchantment to play for free!
  • -Ardenn may seem odd at first glance, but not only can he move equipment, he can also move auras. Guess what curses have as a subtype...
  • -Paradox Haze is one of those enchantments that has so many uses. Obviously you could curse your opponents to make those upkeep effects hit them twice as hard, but you can also curse yourself! Curse of misfortunes, Enduring Ideal, and Starfield of Nyx all benefit from a bonus upkeep trigger!
  • -Solemnity is a very fun (and rude) card. Don't feel like dying? Pair it with Phyrexian Unlife. Tired of your opponents being able to play? Be "super cool" and pair it with Decree of Silence!
  • -Have you Overwhelming Splendor'd an opponent and they just keep tossing out creatures? You could ask them to stop, OR you could send them Curse of Death's Hold and make that choice for them.
  • -Do you ever wish you could make someone not able to cast their commander? Or a Cyclonic Rift? Nevermore is the card for you. And what's better, if you pair it with Estrid's Invocation, you can clone Nevermore and name a new card on your upkeep!
  • -These two combos are for when you just need someone to pack up and watch the rest of the game. Curse a player with Fraying Sanity and then send a Traumatize their way. Watch as they put half of their library into their graveyard, and then go to end step and watch them put their entire deck into their deck box! Another quick kill is to gift someone with Beacon of Immortality. WOW! Double my life total? Thanks! Oh wait, Tainted Remedy says you lose life that you are supposed to gain...Spectator Mode it is...
  • -Lastly, if you just cant keep track of the game anymore; there's just too much going on, just...start over! Well make your opponents start over anyway. Cast Cleansing Meditation while Enchanted Evening is in play and say goodbye to everything! Just make sure you have threshold so you can have your cards back.
