Still more tuning and streamlining —May 2, 2022

This deck has evolved a lot! I need to test it in its current configuration. If anyone plays this, please report back how it's doing for you?

I like the update of swapping Hurriance with Walking Ballista, being a creature means its tutorable and you can use it to individually ping instead of wiping your own board and lifetotal in the process.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it but Blast Zone might be worth noting for additional utility in the land base should you wish.

Blast Zone is interesting, I'll give it some thought, thanks!

Love the CSS and all the nissa fanarts. I think a ballista line would be better and more compact.

This is super cool and thanks for the shoutout at the end :)

Would definitely be interested in a primer!

Hey aslidsiksoraksi, glad to see you here! Very glad you like what I've done with the deck! Do you have any input?

I may make a primer at some point, but I recently faced some roadblocks that made me less excited about making one... I'm glad to hear some positive feedback!

Ender666666 I'm just getting back into EDH and this style of deck so not a ton of super useful input at this time. I'm interested in how you like all the elves - I always ended up playing fewer creatures than this but that's also just a personal preference.

Thought Torpor Orb, Null Rod, and Ballista were all genius inclusions. Kenrith's Transformation also seems to be in a lot of these decks, is it just a green staple at this point?

Well for me, Kenrith's Transformation, and it's ilk are excellent, semi permanent removal of commanders and enchantments to boot, so definite auto includes.

Walking Ballista is a recent addition replacing the Hurricane effects and eliminating the need for fear of them killing us too

December 30, 2020 11:03 a.m.

Ender666666 Nice yeah that makes sense. Kenrith's drawing a card and being an enchantment are nice pluses as well

I just have to play my beta Hurricane though! Might swap the Squall Line for it.

How many green sources do you think you need? I fear I may have gone overboard on non-basic lands in my build.

I have a few opinions to share

I'd love to see a primer, but I know how hard they can be. My suggestion is just take it slow, update it only once and a while when the fancy strikes, and have a good time. Love the deck

Also this page kind of destroyed my computer... intense code you have here

Not sure about others, but I can't open the spoilers (using google chrome if that matters on windows)

Huh. Broken for me too. They worked in the preview... sorry about that. I'll fix it shortly

So the time has come. I have to admit that Nissa is Suboptimal, compared to some of the green legendaries that have been printed lately.

I feel like Ashaya, Soul of the Wild fits best with what this deck ultimately wants to do. If anyone has suggestions on new combos this opens up, or has questions, or thinks I'm a fool for ditching Nissa, sound off in the comments below.

Ashaya is just bonkers and has so many ways to get infinite mana. The only thing I can think of off hand for sure to add is Temur Sabertooth , not only as a combo enabler, but as a backup to Quirion Ranger and Scryb Ranger in case someone drops any MLD.

I liked how you had a unique Nissa deck. It really depedns on what you wanna go for. Are you ok with a unique, suboptimal build, or do you want to build Ashaya in a way similar to everyone else. We can't really answer that for you. Only your personal preference and meta can determine that. Looking forward to your decision.

Hey Profet93, I've enjoyed having a unique Nissa deck too, but sadly, I just found that she was something I didn't really care about having in play or not, and quite often she could go uncast.

Commander at the level of play I am trying to push this deck to just won't abide a useless slot in the deck... So I'm going to test this and see what happens. Ashaya taking over from Nissa is at least satisfying , lore-wise.

Just came across this card. Possible replacement for Seedborn Muse ? Awakening , it's symmetrical but if you have everything on lockdown then it might not matter. Thoughts?

Have you thought about Calming Verse or Karn, the Great Creator ? Pretty good one-sided control.

June 29, 2021 12:25 p.m.

Ender666666 says... #19

Hmmm Karn is interesting, but I'm not sure he's optimal in this build. Calming Verse is also iffy. Thanks for the input though!

Looking over the list, there does not seem to be much GY recursion so I would consider Holistic Wisdom in case something important is removed.

Lotus Cobra is also very synergistic with the commander Ashaya, Soul of the Wild. If your commander is on the field, all creatures give you mana when they enter, so it also makes infinite mana with Quirion Ranger and your commander.

Cream of the Crop also filters through the deck fairly well, especially with the bounce effects, or at least lets you know what is coming if a dork is played.

Wilderness Reclamation untaps creatures and lands if your commander is present at your end step, and is an enchantment.

Orb of Dreams is also interesting because you already have ways to untap permanents, so it likely does not hurt you as much as the table.

As far as what I do not like I do not see the use in having Homeward Path in any deck, and I think the 6 mana requirement of Mouth of Ronom is simply too much, even if you have mana doublers and untappers. Considering the card draw, I would rather see a Reliquary Tower than either of these. That's it though, it seems like most of my suggestions would boil down to meta calls, so it is hard to tell what to remove.

DareiJuxis THANK YOU! I always want critical analysis.

I'll reply at greater length when I have more time, but I really appreciate your opinions and the time you took to write.

I realized that Magus of the Candelabra is crazy-good with Ashaya, and functionally better than the Candelabra of Tawnos that was in here... So I made that swap.
