Iknowyoustolemyugin thanks! Code can be found in my idea well here: Suns_Champion's Well of Ideas. Pay me with upvotes!

Coward_Token Smothering Tithe is going in! Haha

TheNocholas You're welcome, and thanks for the upvote in return! Feel free to stay and discuss!

Hey griffstick, you caught me right as I was writing this comment! That is a cool card that I'll have to think about/test! I see good interactions with Restoration Specialist and Sun Titan . Might be worth it...

For anyone interested, here are the WAR changes!

Sideboarding my Together Forever/Deathrender combo. Found it's too clunky and not very good, as much as I like it.

Looking forward to getting my hands on Liliana, Dreadhorde General .

Reading through I have definitely seen a great deal that I had not thought about or just did not know about. I am not big on combos [so I didn't realize I have a few built in already].

My build revolves solely around Elenda. I love unique commanders that require a build around. If the deck doesn't require me to play the commander I don't enjoy playing it. I have only played the deck a handful of times, and twice against it.

Imo Card draw and recursion should hold the highest value for inclusion. It looks like you have card draw balanced well for orzhov but may want to put in a little more for recursion. I run whisper, bloodliturgist and hell's caretaker to just sac out tokens to bring back Elenda. They may not work in your deck because you run less creatures.

I am a big fan of what Teysa brought to the table, I already had a good deal of dies triggers so I sank deep into them when I cut her in. I cant wait to put cruel celebrant in as another blood artist.

How do you stack the triggers to keep Elenda out with massacre girl? I would love to put her in but thought Elenda would die as well.

TheNocholas excellent feedback, hope you found something useful for your own deck!

I have a very similar philosophy when it comes to commander. I love building around the commander, I see it as the coolest part of the format. If you've seen my other decks, like Brion, Neheb, Firesong & Sunspeaker, and Feather, that will be clear. This deck is capable of holding it's own without Elenda, but the deck is very much suited around her.

I've been pretty content with my draw and recursion. My draw is numerous, with half of them being powerhouses like Krav of Necropotence, so I always find a recursion piece I need. Once I add the new Liliana I will often be in danger of drawing out! My creature light build is definitely a factor.

Teysa is amazing with Elenda, basically making her 4x better. Always love seeing her in my hand. The extra death triggers are just gravy for me.

The Massacre Girl / Elenda, the Dusk Rose interaction is simple. Let's say Elenda is a 2/2 and you have three 1/1 tokens out. You play Massacre girl, everything gets -1/-1. Elenda is now a 1/1 and the three tokens die. Stack the Massacre girl death triggers on the bottom and the Elenda death triggers on top. Elenda's trigger resolve first, giving her three +1/+1 counters, then Massacre Girls three -1/-1 triggers resolve. Elenda is back to being a 1/1 until end of turn. Everything else has gotten -4/-4, and if you're killing more stuff Elenda gets bigger and the Massacre Girl chain continues. With a little luck, when you pass the turn, you should have a rather beefy Elenda and a Massacre Girl out, and everyone else's stuff should be dead. Also better with Teysa.

Your Neheb the eternal deck helped me refine my Neheb, Dragon Shaman deck back when I started. That's why I was thrilled that you liked my Elenda build.

Reading through swayed me to run liliana and massacre girl, I was on the fence about tinkering at all but your arguements swayed me. I was also lucky enough to pull a bontu which should be a nice hand refiller. refilled. Will update my decklists while at work tonight.

I have a question. What edits would you make to this deck to make it more competitive/cEDH proof? My main commanders are Yuriko, Alesha, and Ghave, and my opponents usually play decks on the same if not higher power level, such as Zur or Jodah. I wanna build Elenda, but I don't want her to be delicate.

I guess I should also mention that I love your decklist. Most of them, actually, even though I’m not the biggest Boros fan. Love Orzhov and Mardu the most tho.

Nice to see your Elenda deck doing so well :) I wanted to ask you how do you feel about Together Forever , I just added it to my Elenda deck. And also would like to hear your opinion on how good is Palace Siege ?

Saint Elenda Reborn was my deck if you want to check it out again, I think I've made some changes to it the last time we talked, would enjoy to hear your opinions on it.

Astroaero I am a huge fan elenda, but it can be argued that she is not a competitive commander. The biggest drawback being that she must die and go to the graveyard. It requires building in ways to consistently sac and recur her. Most people build her a deck because she is just awesome and unique.

On those lines I would suggest building a Teysa Karlov deck. Teysa justs add value to what an orzhov aristocrats deck wants to do. My Elenda, a Rose as Sweet deck could easily be turned into a competitive teysa deck by trading some of the instant recurs into token gen or more dies triggers.

TheNocholas I'm glad my Neheb deck was some help to you! It's my favorite deck! Let me know how Bontu goes, I've been considering him too.

Astroaero thanks for the kind words! Boros is my passion but I'v been having fun Branching out to Orzhov.

I am not one to give cEDH advice by any means, that is not my space. But I will say that Elenda is delicate no matter what you do, which is part of why I decided to build her. She will not hold up in competitive metas. She is too weak to creature and artifact removal, and folds to any sort of graveyard hate. You could pimp this deck out with duals, fast mana, and all the expensive cards, and it would be a 9/10 on the competitive scale. To be cEDH you need 10/10. That's how I understand things.

Take that all with a grain of salt, again, cEDH is not my thing. Power to you if you can make it work!

Leonantti welcome back! Your list looks solid for sure! Curve is a little high for my taste, I'd work on finding cheaper win-cons. Curious to know how Fallen Ideal has played for you, I didn't find it to be very good. You have a very strong Teysa and reanimator target package, which I enjoy. My deck is much more focused on niche stuff like Haakon haha! You might want an Entomb for an easier turn 2 Reanimate play. Good luck!

Leonantti oh yeah! Forgot to mention the other cards lol!

Together Forever is very cool, I just took it out but expect to have it back in eventually. It might be a little too cute though, and I don't have a strong +1/+1 counter theme to truly take advantage of it. Palace Siege seems decent, but I feel like there are many, way better recursion spells. Phyrexian Reclamation is one of the best, and I suggest it for your deck before Palace.

Thanks for the comments!

TheNocholas Suns_ChampionYeah, I totally get that. I'm not too interested in her for the tokens, tho. Love her voltron side more which is why I wanted to try it. Really, though, her story is awesome and I love her flavor. I kinda wanted at least one commander whose flavor and story stuff I like.

Thanks for the comments and upvote on my Elenda, I forgot to ask in my last message how well has your deck worked. Sometimes mine can get pretty quick out of hand if not dealt with properly xD Though it depends a lot on what kinda decks I'm playing against and what kinda luck I'm having.

Fallen Ideal has actually worked pretty well, last saturday it did nice things with Teysa Karlov when I sacrificed some creature tokens with Fallen Ideal and created me a huge Elenda that one shotted with that flying one opponent and the other scooped after that xD

Yeah, your deck sure is niche and I kinda love it for that, often my niche ideas or themes (that I would want to build around) do not work.

Astroaero it's too difficult to go voltron with Elenda. 1/1, no evasion, no protection.

If you're looking for a fun, flavorful deck that's off the beaten path, Elenda is a good fit. It's hard work but insanely fun to "get there" with Elenda.

Leonantti You're welcome! The deck has troubles getting going: it's difficult to ramp and get a significant number of death triggers. That's why I'm forced to supply my own tokens most of the time to sac. But once it gets going it's awesome. Assembling 4 card combos, control the board by killing everything, swinging out with huge tokens or voltron style, or just drawing out lol.

Thanks again! I love this deck too. It's probably my most creative deck that isn't total jank, and way cool to play.

Astroaero there is nothing wrong with having a fun to play deck. My Sidisi's Milkshake is my most competitive deck, but that's only because I played it against competitive/expensive decks. I build janky unique stuff. If you like Elenda build one just for fun. If you are having fun you are winning.

Lol yeah, that’s why I have Yuriko. She’s the most fun commander I know of IMO, and I was able to make her pretty competitive too. Was just kinda wondering if I could optimize Elenda that way. I have been told that they’re amongst the same tier, power wise, but I couldn’t see exactly how.

May 7, 2019 6:27 a.m.

TheNocholas says... #18

Astroaero the only way I could see it working competitively would be to dig deep into the sac outlets and instant speed recursion. Also spending money on tutors to dig out combo pieces.

I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t usually buy copies of cards above 50 bucks for each deck. If I need two vamp tutors, I’ll proxy one if the real one is in another deck. That’s why, for the most part, money isn’t a huge issue. I decided to focus on Rakdos for now, though. Eldrazi turn five sounds awesome to me. I’ll probably revisit Elenda when I have more time, when school ends, etc.

What does everyone think for potential includes from Modern Horizons? I cut in Cordial Vampire , Silent Clearing , Talisman of Hierarchy , Etchings of the Chosen and Kaya's Guile (Listed in rank order)

My favorite part of Cordial Vampire is he combos with massacre girl the same way Elenda does, if he is on the field when massacre girl etb all 2/2 or high vampires you control will survive!
