Goodbye, Feldons Cane —May 15, 2019

I have offically droped the cane. It was fun when it was good, but it just wasn't good enough. It has been replaced with Exhume, for a much better card before and during combos. While you now will have much more trouble killing 6 other players in one turn, I don't think that situation will come up... ever.

Well, if you want to be ultra-technical about what Skirge Familiar is, it's simultaneously Yawgmoth's first Phyrexian priest and one of his early experiments. It's not pretty, lemme tell you that. Suicide black is craziness, but I think if you want this to work well, a big mana sink is important. Also, considering the importance of Skirge Familiar in this deck, stuff that tutors it in seems important.

I know its a joke but "best combo" or even "average level combo" is cringy lol. I like the creativity with corpse augur and skirge though. I think a good combo would be to dump a significant amount of your deck in the yard first then augur for almost all your life, skirge your hand for enough mana to gain life, get back important deck pieces, etc.

Haha yhea, not the best combo deck or even close, but it's funny to draw 35 cards in a turn. If only Gnaw to the Bone was black. The reason I said that is because there really is only one other combo deck in PDH, so mine would be the second. :)

Abnormal Endurance, Shade's Form, Supernatural Stamina, Unhallowed Pact and Undying Evil would all save you mana getting your commander back in play. You might also consider Basilica Screecher and Syndicate Enforcer since you need life gain. Soldevi Adnate could be a good mana and sac source.

Also, there are many different combos you can play in PDH, Ghostly Flicker combos just have the most consistency and least number of pieces.

Technically extort is W/B so I can't use it in Mono-B. Otherwise would have included it. Thank you for the suggestions! They are really helpful. Lol might have to buy this...

You can actually use Extort in Mono-Black and Mono-White, it is a corner case in the rules for EDH. Color Identity is only determined by mana symbols in the casting cost and rules text, and the mana symbols on cards with Extort are in the reminder text. It is the rule that lets you use Crypt Ghast in a mono-Black deck. So you can run 'em if you want 'em.

Wow, thanks, never knew that. Extort is my new favorite ability!
