Who else saw apex devestator and thought "I want to cascade more than anyone has ever cascaded!" ?? Because that is what I said.

While still making the deck playable, it is focused on cascading as much as possible. Almost all the cascade cards are here!

With Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder and Imoti,Celebrant of Bounty and Maelstrom Nexus out. If we cast Devestator we get to cascade 7 TIMES!!! AND, if we hit something like Enlisted Wurm or Aurora Phoenix they get 2 cascade triggers off their cast as well. if The First Sliver is out, and adaptation (or conspiracy which is in the "maybe") Then Apex cascades 8 times! and the few slivers we have also get cascade. Considering putting more in but it is hard to fit. Between ramp, draw, and fixing our non-cascade slots are at a premium. I decided the "good" spells I would put in would be the ultimatums. They are, obviously mana heavy and not as powerful as just running tutors and game-ending combos, but, they are cool. This is a "cool" deck more than anything. It also would feel bad to cascade off devestator and only be able to hit cheap spells, so these ones bring a punch! Another consideration is putting all the shrines into the deck? Would be another wincon, and they fix mana, draw, and protect you - not a bad deal. Downside is they can be removed and we arent in the business of buidling a pillow fort enchantment deck to protect/return them.

I put in Turntimber Ranger because I am tired of oracle decks. And, the truth is Oracle would be a better wincon in this too. The ranger goes infinite if Arcane Adaptation is one ally. Otherwise it is a pretty useless card, but I wanted some sort of mono-colored wincombo so if you cast Emergent Ultimatum you can pick devestator and the combo and they have to let you cascade!! :) So it isn't meant to actually win, really the only way you win is by combat, or Aetherflux Reservoir which, is easy to get to 4-5 spells a turn once you have 6 mana or so. Something like Temporal Aperture or the tutors/draw cards should make sure you can cascade. Worst case scenario you just keep recasting the commander!

I specifically built it so the only "free" spell is a wheel. So if you have nexus out or yidris hits and you have a birds of paradise or brainstorm - you know you get to draw 7. The 1 drops are all really powerful/good. Birds is the weakest, but being the best mana dork/fixer makes it worth the risk of cascading into.
