Background

My quest for unlimited power transformed my original Draconic Domination Precon into a combo packed reanimator list headed by Scion of the Ur-Dragon. I thrived in my the success of my decklist, but I realized my newfound power bought me many enemies. The Scion of the Ur-Dragon was so potent that he was consistently targeted to the point that I realized my deck had really turned into the commander dependent deck archetype I despised most: Voltron. I hated how polarizing my deck was. I wallowed in my own self anguish for months until I began to hear whispers... I thought these to be whispers of my own subconscious which sought to bring about the Return of the Ur-Dragon. But I realized the voices could be none of than the whispers of the Ur-Dragon, which came slowly like a trickle of water seeping through a crack that inevitably escalated into an unrelenting torrent of raw experience and research. The Ur-Dragon promised me power, tempting my insatiable appetite for strength and speed. The dark whispers of the Ur-Dragon came from every direction and echoed throughout my room and mind; it clawed at my sanity until I could resist no longer. The budgetary limits I placed upon myself waned and then shattered. With my self imposed seals of power restriction broken, I couldn't help but fall victim to my most basic instincts. I had become a shell of my former self who obsessed over one purpose: to seek to empower myself beyond what I thought possible no matter the price. I traveled to the darkest corners of TCGplayer, Card Kingdom, and Facebook Marketplace, and I ascended into the pantheon of degenerate legends who thrive in the terrible plane of existence mere mortals call CEDH. This decklist is the current iteration of my original dragon deck: Scion of the Win Button, and it seeks to win at all costs. I've tossed aside my dignity as a dragon player by discarding the best of dragons in favor of speed, consistency, and potency.

Winning Combos

  1. Niv-Mizzet + Curiosity Effect We draw combo pieces and counterspells while dealing lethal damage from our entire deck using a Niv-Mizzet + Curiosity effect where Niv-Mizzet is Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius, Niv-Mizzet, Parun, or Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind and Curiosity effect is Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, Keen Sense, or Tandem Lookout.

  2. Worldgorger Dragon + Animate Dead Generate infinite mana using Worldgorger Dragon + Necromancy or Dance of the Dead or Animate Dead. Once we have infinite mana, we can summon Scion of the Ur-Dragon and transform it into a mana outlet like Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius or infinite combat step Hellkite Charger to deal lethal damage.

  3. Thassa's Oracle + Tainted Pact Cast Tainted Pact or Demonic Consultation while Thassa's Oracle is on the stack to win the game. Can use Neoform to tutor for Thassa's Oracle.

  4. Moltensteel Dragon to 1 shot a player Activate Scion of the Ur-Dragon's ability several times, stacking Moltensteel Dragon with Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon or Scourge of the Throne to finish off one or two opponents.
