[Competitive] Burning Trains

Pauper RW (Boros)

Admael5

Sideboard

Initially started as a human tribal trying to make the most out of Cavalry Pegasus and Riot Ringleader , and ended up being what you are seeing now.

This is a fast, aggressive deck which relies on the human tribal support cards and the Train − Renegade Freighter − to race for the win. Sandstone Needle is a land of choice to accelerate the deck providing valuable ramp and Bloodlust Inciter accelerate our aggression very efficiently. Depletion lands also help ensure turn 2 Burning-Tree Emissary crazy plays, my favourite one being Burning-Tree into Train, crew the train with the Emissary, then give it haste with the Bloodlust Inciter . THe Pegasus and the Ringleader serve as a a great way to push extra damage, and both of them can be given haste with the Inciter or with Reckless Charge , another amazing card to push damage, early in the game with a turn 2 Burning-Tree or later with the Train, the Pegasus, or even the Ringleader to push a lot of extra damage.

Lightning Bolt and Bonds of Faith conform the removal package, the latter of which is makes up for a nice permanent pump spell too. Mutagenic Growth and Benevolent Bodyguard are here to protect our creatures, the Bodyguard being specially useful for also pushing extra damage via Bonds or Ringleader pumps, or via clearing the way for one of our beaters. Last but not least, Burning Prophet is the "card draw" of choice, it being a very good way to filter cards to find exactly what we need at the right moment.

Mana base was built to ensure having the turn 2 play, while maximizing mountains and having enough sources of white mana, maximizing Mountain s to ensure good early plays, Ash Barrens providing some deck thinning and finding us the Plains we need, and Wind-Scarred Crag providing very useful fixing and some extra life.

The sideboard has more space due to Relic of Progenitus not being that needed. We already run 3 Flaring Pain s against the fogs and strands, and we use the space to get better the matchups of Affinity, Elves and Burn.
