New Accordion Draft//CommandFest 2019 —Dec. 17, 2019

So, I finally got a new draft for the Accordion that actually works on the site. I'm not 100% happy with it yet, there's one extra effect i'm trying to get working so stay tuned for another change in the near future.

This past weekend (14 DEC) I went to DC CommandFest 2019 and I actually got to meet the Professor of TolarianCommunityCollege! So what was he like? Well...the only chance I had to really talk to him was right before he was about to start a game of Commander and I can only assume that he was rather tired from the deluge of fans that descended upon him as he arrived. Don't get me wrong, he was very nice and attentive as he could be, but I couldn't help but feel he was distracted or rushed or something - but I digress! I told him my tale of the Queen's Egg and received a signature from him on my matching Sliver themed playmat (I'll upload pictures in the near future) - receiving an "A" for my "Master Thesis in Sliver Field Studies". Additionally, I requested that he maybe visit my deckpage but he informed me that he doesn't use Tappedout anymore :( I guess the dream of senpai noticing me will have to remain such LOL.

Besides meeting the professor, I caught up with MTG artist Noah Bradley who was selling "Slivir" tokens (to avoid copyright issues with Wizards no doubt). Now, I want to post a picture BUT the only reference I have has the Slivir token next to some NSFW images so i'll just take a picture later and post it here.

I actually did play the deck in a competitive pod by the way, I was up against my friend's highly tuned Combo Najeela, the Blade-Blossom, a Cheerios Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain, and a Sliver Tribal The First Sliver. I knew my friends' deck well enough to know the warning signs of when he's attempting to combo off with Najeela, so I simply removed his commander at a most vital moment and kept counter magics up in case he attempted to lock out the board with a Blood Moon, War's Toll or Price of Glory. On the turn I decided to go for the win, my friend of course warns the table that i'm about to go off...but nobody had any interaction. Well that's not true - the Jhoria player had a Pyrite Spellbomb they could have detonated on my Gemhide Sliver a few turns ago to slow me down, but he must've forgotten. So, I proceeded to steal the The First Sliver that was on the board with Sliver Overlord and comboed off on my next turn (turn 5 or 6 I think) and just plowed forward into a Basal Sliver + Sliver Queen + Lavabelly Sliver combo and proceeded to kill the table. I made it a point to announce all of my triggers though...as Jhoria had some mana up. But nothing...huh. Go Slivers.

Anywho, I totally plan on attending DC CommandFest 2020 - and uh Deadpoo111 I was totally walking around calling out to random people with blueish jackets/blazers "Deadpool?" lol. Sucks that we didn't find each other for a game. Oh well, next year. Unless you are in the Maryland/DC Metro area. Maybe we can meet up for an "official" Tappedout meetup?

I saw this hilarious combo where someone ran Bazaar Trader and Hivestone with overlord to make all my creatures slivers and then took them all, not just the men, but the women and the children too. Actually I guess I would say: not just the slivers, but the slivers and the slivers too. Would suggest for maximum shits and giggles but other than that this list is nasty, what do you think about adding Morophon, the Boundless ? He's a sliver that makes all your 5c slivers free, and he can be searched up by overlord. Btw, did you see the sorin sliver combo deck with morophon? That shit was crazy.

Deadpoo111, thanks for the comment and +1 - each point gets me closer and closer to that fabled ~500 upvotes. Currently, that's the upvote count to beat, with the only other tribal deck I have to compete with is the Professor's introductory sliver build. I referenced it in my deck description, but I just need to fix it up as I need to strip out all the javascript. Speaking of the Professor of Tolarian Community College, he'll be a guest at the upcoming CommandFest in D.C. we'll be meeting up at. And yes, i'll be bringing this monstrosity along with me. As a reminder you'll be cosplaying Ral Zarek, yes? To identify me, i'll be carrying around a large Grimlock Transformer in box. To clarify, I also pilot Grimlock, Dinobot Leader  Flip - as he is insanely cool for a Dino commander. That decklist is The Predator of Predators, in case you were curious. what decks are you bringing along?

Oh, and I forgot - in regards to your card suggestions Bazaar Trader and the Hivestone are a very funny combo...but not in the spirit of what i'm going for with this deck, which is cEDH sliver tribal - or as close to cEDH as I can get. As for Morophon , i'm curious about it - But I don't see it winning me the game once I spend all that mana. I'm all about playing close to the ground high value cards. If I spend , then that has to directly result in the end of the game. I guess what i'm trying to say is that Morophon feels like a "Win-more" card. If I play it, then i'm already in the lead and not necessarily needing it for a specific combo or synergy to seal the deal.

Why is your Deck "93 competitive" all of a sudden while my list with a way worse landbase and no crypt, mox etc. is 97% ?! that algorithm seems to be really flawed ^^'

Slayroth, I have no idea lol. I'd love to know how the algorithm calculates competitiveness.

From what I have heard, it looks at all the cards that are in all the competitive decks and then does some sort of comparison of how many of your cards are in that pool, I'm guessing with some sort of weighting (i'm guessing it would also take into account the commander)? So even if you flag your list as competitive, unless the card is seen in a bunch of other competitive lists, then your list will suffer from a pure percentage point of view. That being said, there are many lists out there labelled as competitive which probably shouldn't be and in turn would affect the algorithms.

That's just waht I have heard kicking aound the traps. Though ultimately the competitive score is so arbitrary that you can just ignore it. Trying to base your deck building on it is not a good idea.

LVL_666 So I got my order in I was super pumped for all 3 When i came back into magic 5 years ago I fell in love with reaper king and made a janky clone with some pws deck. I took it apart for my first iteration of slivers, which got taken apart for the ur-dragon. Then back to slivers so its awesome that all 3 of my favourite commanders for 5c come in this set
