Now you see me, now you don't. What's real? What isn't? When you can't trust the reality around you, how can you even trust if your own creatures are really your own? This Meloku the Clouded Mirror deck plans to mess with opponents' board states by stealing their creatures. Corrupted Conscience takes over a creature and gives it Infect for added flavour and threat, while Illusory Gains messes with all of my opponents' strategies by threatening to instantly steal whatever good creature they might play. Being in Mono-Blue, Vedalken Shackles also becomes particularly good. However, being in Mono-Blue means that ramp is basically inexistent, and Meloku's ability to generate Illusion tokens also comes at the cost of returning a land to my hand. Therefore, effects like Terrain Generator , Ghirapur Orrery , Patron of the Moon , and Walking Atlas are a must, and coincidentally allow the abuse of Roil Elemental 's permanent stealing ability. Furthermore, mana doublers like Caged Sun , Gauntlet of Power , and Extraplanar Lens not only give Meloku's illusions a power boost (at least for the two former) while increasing the amount of mana a single island produces, thus turning Entrancing Melody and Mass Manipulation from merely good to absolute powerhouses. If that wasn't enough, Clone Legion , Followed Footsteps , Vesuvan Shapeshifter , and Cryptoplasm can make copies of the best creatures on the board. The rest of the deck is packed with flavourful cards that support the illusion theme, like Veiled Sentry or Mesmerizing Benthid , and support fliers, like Favorable Winds and Gravitational Shift .
