Minor tweaks to better optimize —March 20, 2020

Just a quick rundown of cards I have removed and added to further optimize the deck.

Cards Cut-

Life from the Loam - lack of value. It provides more value to the sub-theme rather than the deck's main combo lines.

Ramunap Excavator- The deck no longer leans so heavily on playing lands from the graveyard so no longer needs the redundancy.

Burgeoning- More unneeded redundancy. The ramp package might still be a bit high, but i think it is closed to dialed.

Windgrace's Judgment- While this is a good card it has a high cmc and I never felt like it was a game changer or super impact when I played it. Prefer to run cheaper single target removal for smoother early game, and easier tutoring mid to late game.

Cards Added-

Chaos Warp- Good all around single target removal. Added for versatility over Windgrace's Judgment

Korvold, Fae-Cursed King- This might not stay in but I am going to test out running him as the commander with Windgrace in the 99. I think Windgrace will ultimately stay at the helm, but Korvold provides a sac outlet for Protean Hulk on demand in the command zone, which can be used for a turn 6 win if Protean is cheated out early. This is really just a throw it at the wall see if it sticks kind of thing to satisfy some curiosity.

Gamble- I was worried about the discard at random bit but the deck wants tutors and needed more tutors to get non creatures so I quit being dumb and added it.

Puterfy- It is text-less full, ar,t and gorgeous.... enough said (It is the other single target removal spell added to replace Windgrace's Judgment. I think it provides more value overall after playing both in the deck, but that might just be my meta.

Deserted Temple- Pay 1 to untap a Cabal Coffers to get all the mana basically. Or Volrath's Stronghold to get 2 creatures from your graveyard.

You cloud cut explosive veggies for carpet of flowers. It's lower cmc and will net you a lot more mana (especially against higher powered decks which usually have blue.)

Savydoublestrike you are absolutely correct. But my main playgroup will refuse to play islands to screw over Carpet of Flowers if it hits the battlefield. We are kinda assholes in that way (We also only have one mono blue player the other blue decks are 3 color or more so they aren't playing too many basics.) I honestly forgot about Carpet of flowers until just now and will probably switch it out when I play with other playgroups. Thanks for reminding me.

I just thought of something else. For only one more mana you could run "Hour of Promise" which would be insane value. Cast it and you get dark depths or Field of the dead or Valakut + Vesuva or Thespian's stage. This would also strengthen your scapeshift plays by doubling field of the dead or valakut with vesuva before casting it. also +1

Dread Presence ? With Urborg you can make a mini Valakut or a draw engine.

cmsrDPM that is not a bad idea. I think I will go ahead and give it a shot. I was thinking of tweaking the card draw so I might start here.
