Codie is a commander with a lot of weaknesses. A lot of defense in commander relies on permanents like lightning greaves, not to mention, putting defensive spells and counterspells in your deck makes some real feel bad targets for codie's cascades. You could run some flexible counters like charms to help mitigate this, but the road I chose was to just ignore the weaknesses and go ham on value. My secret spice was filling the low end with as many copy spells as budget permitted, which are always good if drawn, and always give great value when cascaded into. Also, having the two zero cost spells and no one mana spells means even cascading with a 2 mana card is sure to come with some added value.
