Remember, they came as three

remember they came as three

As soon as I saw clues I knew I had to make Clue tribal. Tamiyo's Journal is the real general of the deck. Once we get going it's not unusual to tutor once a turn or more.

Our repeatable clue producers are

Briarbridge Patrol

Bygone Bishop

Byway Courier

Daring Sleuth

Drownyard Explorers

Thraben Inspector

Tireless Tracker

So what's cool about clues? They're artifacts thats what. They come in untapped and can tap right away to untap something else with Clock of Omens Anything that counts the number of artifacts or triggers when an artifact enters will trigger. And then when you really need answers, you're so close but need one more card, you can sacrifice them for cards.

Ideally you're getting a benefit as they come in and several as they come out. Erdwal Illuminator is giving you a bargain. Briarbridge Patrol is tracking how many are leaving. Graf Mole is surprisingly effective, saved my life more than once.

Remember they came as three

Things enter and things leave, with far too many triggers for anyone to keep track of.

Is that a Battered Golem that just untapped? Oh, no he's tapped again. That Paradise Mantle on him seems to keep him down.

Midnight Guard keeps untaping whenever a creature enters. Zephyr Scribe when a noncreature. Mirran Spy untaps other things. This is all very strange.

Not only that but creatures thought dead, aren't. That Enduring Renewal means the deck plays with hand revealed. Magus of the Future has everyone aware of the top card. Every piece is evident, but the pieces keep moving, shifting, a sacrificed Ornithopter into the hand then down onto the battlefield, then back up again as it dies to a Trading Post that untaps because of Dross Scorpion questing ever deeper. It is as if the deck seeks for one final piece.

remember they came as three "Remember, they came as three")

Untap + thing that untaps it for zero mana + way to return it to the hand. Midnight Guard + Memnite + Retraction Helix for instance.

Then we have our three engines.

Bygone Bishop

Ulvenwald Mysteries

Magnifying Glass

Infinite creatures entering and dying trigger the first two, the infinite mana this can create allows you to activate the third.

A billion clues arise, each a question with the potential for an answer.

And then? How do you win with infinite clues? I'll leave you to ponder that. It's a mystery
